Our xG was 2.78

The understat model has McAteer's chance in the 72nd minute as 0.43xG, and Vardy's goal as 0.34xG. it's way off.

Still not quite sure how we won that. Well, learn to finish West Ham. lol

I saw fight and a counter attack, that created some goals and chances. Now to sort the defense out, because they were running right through it on so many occassions.

Love the Ruud vibes and being past the Derby record.

I don’t think we will get to a point this season where we look “solid” simply because we don’t have good enough defenders but I do think we can do better than we are and hopefully ruud is able to improve us structure wise over the coming weeks.

If you need to take off Vesty and your only option is Faes then that's what you do. But I hope being on the bench gives Faes some food for thought.

Faes on the bench is the best place for him...and the fans.

I've just watched the highlights on YouTube and watched the Offside decision against Buenanotte, the screen showed the defender against his right hand side as the one as he's offside, but looking at the player closer to us (on the screen) looks further back, it's either just a dodgy picture shown on the screen or they messed up.

Just to add, it still looked tight to be off, just disagree with the misleading picture shown

new manager bounce is a fallacy

I’m aware to what you’re referring, but I suspect it’s deeper than that and dependent on other factors including the individual player’s motivations and abilities. I fully believe that a new manager can have an impact on squads that want to do well and have some players of excellence. Then there are times where it doesn’t matter what manager is brought in, because of the squad, or that the appointment was a poor one. It’s what was so frustrating with Brenda, the squad could’ve stayed up with an early and decent replacement.

A lot being made of the 31 shots, but I’d only say 4/5 of them were clear cut. Hermansen was busier first half. Maybe a little fortunate with the disallowed goal and Coady stopped one on the line, but we had as many clear cut chances as them overall, we were just ruthless with them

It was a clear, intended foul on Hermansen.  It would be interesting to examine their goal, too. A messy one from a cross that might well have shown a foul by a W Ham player in the lead-up.

Southampton could be putting that record in danger.

It was perfectly intelligible, I caught something about Vardy having the winning bid on a bit of Clarence Cliff pottery for £700

but was there fair warning before the hammer

We've had quite a few significant games against West Ham in recent years, often seems to be noteworthy in some way or another...

14/15: started the string of wins to survival

15/16: crazy 2-2 with Vardy sent off

17/18: helicopter crash

22/23: confirmed relegated

24/25: Ruud first game

First game after Sven left too. Andy King played great but we still lost.

Great win, on reflection.

The team needed that. A game where we were battered but won convincingly. Gonna go a long way over the course of the season stuff like that.
