King Power bought us after finishing 12th in League Two and look what they achieved!

Don’t, there are many who will rewrite history to just this if/when we fall further to justify defending them!

Did the identity of the mysterious party who remained secret when we got bought ever get revealed? From memory, vichai and top were just the face?

iirc we were linked with the how to buy a football club years ago and some other dodgy stuff. Could well be some weird ish going on under the surface.

We would be attractive to savvy buyers because Top’s mismanagement has created some alpha in us an investment.

- Big(ish) fanbase, ground ripe for expansion and planning secured

- Bigger name relative to Bournemouth, Forest, Fulham, Brighton, Palace etc

to due to 2016(-2021)

- Seagrave

- Productive academy, Barnes, Chilwell, KDH c. £120m alone

- Central location, ~ an hour to London

The outstanding liabilities (Sounds like Top, Rudkin, Whelan wahey) would knock the purchase price down too.

Southampton were worth £125m ish in January 2022, we’d be more valuable than that anyway but you’re essentially buying a midtable PL club for a yo-yo price.

If Top (or the family) are wavering on us as asset, sell now before our value diminishes further through his incompetence

It's a strange one, you've said basically the same as me but come to the opposite conclusion, and yet I don't really disagree with you, i'm probably just being pessimistic on this perticular subject where I've been optimistic on our chances of promotion next season.
I came to the conclusion that we are a premier league club in facilities (and running costs), but completely bloated in the Championship where if we don't manage to shift the deadwood and we make mistakes in summer could be 1 bad window from becoming a Championship club with a huge financial weight on our shoulders.

It feels like the club is on a knife edge between making a few more mistakes and killing us off completely, or making a few sensible decisions around management and playing staff that could see us straight back up.

By 2026 most of the worst dossers are out of contract and if we don’t go up the parachute payments cover the costs still.

Lots of people that buy clubs are surprisingly dumb about but some miserly, moneyball acolyte yanks could actually ok here. The hard yards have been done already we just need competent backroom staff

If moves were made now by some other entity to buy our club, wouldn't the process likely take a lengthy period that would render us unable to make football-related moves (manager, recruitment, pre-season even) during the summer?

It can’t be Americans. No more American owners in the English game. They are trying to destroy in, and in numbers will create a closed shop with no promotion and relegation.

Potentially, but obviously if its for the better, then its worth dealing with it.

I can’t believe how many people get this wrong. Promotion and relegation is literally the reason theyve bought into it. See Wrexham, Birmingham and a whole others. Cos Bolehy got all silly (we haven’t heard from him in a while and it’s not American money there)

Always amazes me how English fans would much rather be owned by opaque and corrupt Asian families/states than the Americans who for better or worse are generally legit

Listening to the Guardian football podcast and casually raised by one of the hosts is 'Leicester are the worst team I've seen in 40 years'.

Often its good to remember how others see us as I'm just numb to it all now.

It's criminal what has been allowed to happen to this club. We don't deserve this.

Sad thing about that statement, is it's absolutely true, we really are that bad.

Top arrived yesterday after the game. Doesn't tend to make a visit when there isn't a game on.

Came in to London rather than EMA

Starting to think the plane is at Farnborough Gulfstream base for a service to be honest. More radio silence suggests he probably didn't come over with the plane.

We are that bad……. And the worst bit about it, is the board seemingly don’t give a shit, or they don’t care enough or clearly value us as a fan base enough, to even bother speak to the fans, which probably hurts more.

We are flattered by having 18 points. It cannot get much worse.

Still not heard a peep from the club.

The club is not going to say a word about anything until after the season is over in a month's time, and possibly not for several weeks after that.
