With half of the season now done, what are everyone’s thoughts so far and are we hopeful of survival or do we think we need to add to much in January and won’t pick up the quality? It looks as though we will need at-least 20 points from this next 19 games to have a chance, looks a big ask

Throwing away the two goal lead at Palace and last weekends abomination against Wolves are sliding door moments first half of the season. Two different results there and the table looks much better for us. Just don’t think there are 3 worse teams than us unfortunately.

Well, I'd say we're relegation fodder through and through. We look at best a championship side, completely fooked this opportunity up. Don't expect us to be gracing this level again any time soon. This club and this team has no class whatsoever.

Massive home games against Southampton, Ipswich, Palace all must win then we need to fi down 3 of 4 more from somewhere.

All down to the window, we probably need to spend 70m+ to stand a chance.

We also need Ndidi, Hermansen fit.

At the half way point, we are one win less than what we needed. That’s it. 4 wins and 5 draws in a relegation fight at 19 games is a good return.

That one less win makes the second of the season harder as we need 6 wins and 5 draws (to get the magic 40h. However, if we get 5 wins and 6 draws in the hope that one of the others only gets to 34, it’s doable. The one less wins means not only do we need 5 wins but we need one of the others to be poor too - not “in our own hands”. Which given how much comfort it gave us in 22/23 to have it in our own hands, that might be a good thing.

It’s hard but this season is hard. I can’t look at that last run of fixtures and not have hope.

We concede far too many goals.

Unless we start getting some clean sheets, I can't see us getting enough points to survive.

6 wins and a few draws sounds so doable that shows how dog sh!t we are that I’ve no faith in us doing it

We're 3 points from safety (2 really but with gd as it is).  It's a bit OTT to be calling it over from here.  It's almost as if we've not learned from our own history.

The season we were relegated we had a shit start and then went on a decent run pre Xmas that got us back up to 13th.  That little spell was better than the likes of Wolves and West Ham have recently put together, and once we were out of it nobody outside of Leicester thought we'd drop back into it.  On that basis the likes of Wolves, Everton, Palace and even West Ham are still in it.  We might turn a corner, we might luck out a few games, somebody else might conspire to implode as we did.  There's loads of time left for loads of scenarios.  Some of which might see us survive.

Comfortably .... on 50 points

I think the squad really lacks quality. We aren’t better than the teams above us currently. We cannot defend and whilst we concede goals at the rate we do, we will go down. We have some decent players, occasionally play some decent stuff but across the whole team, we are short. January is a huge month, if we can bring in some real quality we may have a chance but it’s a long shot from here. The Wolves game did it for me. The fatawu injury is such a massive blow too. That was the turning point. Good performance today but ultimately we are pass the point of being happy with performances with no points. We need wins badly. We are desperate for a quality right back because Justin ain’t it. Ruuds biggest priority has to be making us more solid. I think the players will give it a go but will come up short.

Sack the board.

The Wolves loss was unforgivable. On a positive note, finally the fans have found their collective voice. Tolerating mediocrity is no longer an option, and the management has heard that loud and clear.

Underwhelming first half of the season.

We have enough about us with the technical ability in the midfield to generate opportunities. We are a Vardy injury away from really struggling to put the ball in the net. I’ll give Daka more leeway than others but whilst he presses better than Vardy, he is better running into space. Something that Premier League teams rarely give you.

The defence worries me, as we need to

stop conceding. Our positional play and overall ability as a cohesive unit is about as fragile as a wet paper back.

The 2024 summer recruitment of both players and staff was largely abysmal.

Cooper wasn’t the right coach to take us into this season. We can play possession based football and we recruited poorly in the summer. We should have got in a coach with a similar philosophy to Maresca. Still not convinced RVN is the correct coach either by the way, however he needs time and transfer window.

Injuries to key players is hurting us.

Ricardo, Hermansen and Fatawu get into the team that lost yesterday. Hopefully we see Ricardo and Hermansen again this season.

We need a minimal of 3 players in January.

Two fullbacks that are comfortable on the ball and a centre back to partner Vestergaard. Coady is okay as a backup.

Faes and Ndidi aren’t at the required level, so ideally we move them on in January to fund these signings.

Skipp and Okali look to be a waste of £40m.

El Khannous is a gem and hopefully he continues to grow. Coopers tactics nullified him. His partnership with Winks and Buonanotte worked well.

Soumare has improved but still has lapses in concentration. If we could improve on him with another metronome player like Winks, we’d control the ball more in games. Skipp isn’t that player.

Mavididi slows play down too much to try and do step overs. He doesn’t have the pace to get around players at this level like in the Championship, who also doesn’t give him the space. He needs to just go more direct as his end product isn’t bad, he generates opportunities. We just need more of them.

We are within 10 points of mid table. So it’s far from over. We need to improve though as we can’t afford to lose to the teams around us. I think we’ll need 38ish points to stay up, as Southampton are going to have such a low points total. That’s 24 more points or an average of 1.26 points per game.

Our last 5 games could be nail biting as we play:

26th April - Wolves away

3rd May - Southampton home

10th May - Forest away

18th May - Ipswich home

25th May - Bournemouth away

Ideally I’d rather be playing teams that are maybe on the beach at that point!

Would take something special to rescue this.

Damage was done recruiting the wrong man in the summer.

Rudkin and Whelan Out.

This. Recruiting the wrong man, to purchase the wrong players in the summer has cost us and that isn't on the players, that is on the board. Cooper should never have been employed. They panicked and crossed their fingers.

We're down, but there is a glimmer of hope. At least we're in touching distance. I just see wolves being more stable and getting more points than us.

Getting the players in we need is going to be tough due to the threat of relegation. If we were above the line we'll look a better proposition.

As Muzzy says Everton and Wolves have hurt us a lot.

Our squad lacks depth. We can put out a competitive 11 but our subs bench is honking. We have made players like Coady and Soumare, players we didn’t deem good enough for the Championship, regular starters.

Out of our summer signings, only 1 started yesterday.

We need very good January window and to not lose Mads to Chelsea and we might have a chance.

We’ve got to have broken a world record for the most threads being opened with a depressing undertone, seeking to start yet another debate of how shit we are. I’ll just go ahead and post the name Rudkin…. It’s all Wellens fault.

Apart from Liverpool and potentially Arsenal, we have a good chance of beating anyone.

Sadly so does everyone else above us and they have better players, organisation and management so we will not manage it - we will go down but this time it maybe for a while sadly!

There are not 3 teams as poor as us - can’t see us staying up and preseason killed us with the minute Enzo left we have made dreadful decisions in management and signings

With Wolves, Everton and Palace improving since first 10 games, 38 points might be minimum requirement. So 24 from 19. Basically win 1, draw 1, lose 1 form.

On current form that is us transforming in to a 12th placed Brentford to stand a chance 2nd half. For perspective to achieve same Ipswich need top half form and Southampton already almost need Champions League form.

Completely agree with this. It’s too late, we are down.
