Outfox the Fox Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 As well as the possibility of Cannon being recalled from loan, I wonder if there's a strong case for Cover to come back. He's been having a great season with Port Vale, regularly playing as their right wing back. He's doing well in a position that desperately needs strengthening.
coolhandfox Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Mate a Vale fan, like him but thinks he never going to make it at PL level.
moore_94 Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Nah I don't think he would be ready for the Prem yet (or if he ever will be) Whilst he is doing well we do need to remember it is in League Two He either needs to stay there for the rest of the season or be recalled and sent to League One if we can get him a decent loan there His best chance of getting into our team anytime soon would be next season if we get relegated and at least keeps up the performances in League Two and even then he still might not be ready for us tbh
bald reynard Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Can't do much worse than Justin. He's already probably as good as Choudhury and is young enough to improve. A full Jamaican international. 1
JimJams Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Amazes me that a player we have who has been doing well in the 4th tier is even thought of as a candidate for a Premier League relegation scrap. 3

Sounds to me the loan is doing its job and he should see it out. 3
Tuna Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Massive difference between league two and the Premier league! Leave him where he is, gaining competitive senior experience. 1
coolhandfox Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 I think he will be more of a Brunt, sold for a small profit, rather than a Barnes who become a PL regular.

Leave him where he is, gaining competitive senior experience. Exactly. He'll be better for a while season at professional level, then sitting on a bench. He's not ready for PL, but he might be okay in the championship. We'll see where 2025 takes us.

Sly Posted 31 December 2024 Posted 31 December 2024 Sorry to rain on everyone’s parade, however if you put Justin in League 2, he’d look like the best player in the league. The game has levels. Just because Justin is struggling, doesn’t mean he’s a horrific player. Cover would get ripped to pieces in the Premier League. 4
LCFCJohn Posted 1 January 2025 Posted 1 January 2025 I have thought he could come back and play a part in the Championship next season as a season as a stand out as a young player in League 2 would put you on the radar of Championship sides if your parent club wasn’t already one. But not part way through a Premier League season.

Lcfcwigstonblue Posted 1 January 2025 Posted 1 January 2025 Definitely not coming back this month and will leave in the summer.
LVFox Posted 1 January 2025 Posted 1 January 2025 Step up would be huge to PL. Good to actually see a loan move go well for someone though. Could see him in the squad next year if we went down.

Outfox the Fox Posted 5 January 2025 Author Posted 5 January 2025 (edited) I see I and one other FT'er, are being quoted on the Leicester City News site, as, "many Leicester fans are calling for Brandon Cover to be recalled from his loan at Port Vale, to replace James Justin". It's amazing how a couple of simple posts, become a 'big call from City fans'! You'll know that the suggestion was pretty much pooh pooed by most on here - which I wasnt surprised about, they were fair criticisms! Edited 5 January 2025 by Outfox the Fox
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot Posted 5 January 2025 Posted 5 January 2025 Never seen him play but this is Port Vale's form (in League Two). WDLLDDLDDL Justin needs a spell out of the team but he's a decent player. I also suspect he'd be a lot stronger with a better centre back next to him (like the impact Robert Huth had on everyone who played with him. 1
