And the dodgy deals with the likes of Kellyman/Maatsen and Dobbin/Iroegbunam.

 

My point was more that they spent absolutely hideous amounts when they weren't even in the PL, yet that was never a big issue, yet we get relegated and operate at a big net profit (transfer wise) and we were threatened with sanctions.

 

Much like how Spurs are in the 'big 6' purely because of having had a couple of good seasons when the money when stratospheric (and they've capitalised on it commercial/fan base wise to be fair to them). Timing is everything in life.

i totally understand that tbf, it feels like certain clubs arent given the same hand as everyone else

I’ve said to people all season they’d be looking to shift Watkins this year. Surely you’d prefer to cash in on him and give Duran the role. 
 

How many years left would Watkins have at his peak? Whereas in 4 years they can sell Duran for a fortune still.

I think they are keen. They’ve pulled the perfect PR move and complained about the timing of the bid ahead of the Celtic game… makes it look like they’re reluctantly going to accept soon…

Villa making in excess of 110-115m from the Diaby and Duran sales to the Middle East while we faff about over a couple million for the likes of Luke Thomas and Daka/Soumare historically.

It’ll rise even further, he also allegedly doesn’t have a great attitude. They’d be insane to not cash in and sell Watkins. Good position in league and Europe.

yeah but we have an idiotic DoF whos so behind the times 

Villa dont, they have someone whos actually upto speed with things

Monchi is their Director of Football now, right? Or Head of Recruitment? Regardless, he knows what he's doing when he has the right tools. If only, if only...what I'd give for us to have a talented DoF and a clear strategy...

He's the best in the business, simple as that. 

 

 

 

*people always reply to me saying that with a picture of Txixi... which is fine... but he's done it at Barca and Man City... Not Sevilla, Villarreal and Villa.

Agree with that to an extent, however, they have a pretty set starting eleven, I guess this type of signing increases competition and provides cover.


We don’t seem to have that cover when players are injured, and if we do, they are incapable of performing in this league.

Manchester United are close to completing a deal for Lecce and Denmark left-back Patrick Dorgu.

 

If this get's done I'd love to see us try and get Malacia on loan.
