The formula needed for 38 points and probable safety.

6 wins

6 draws

6 defeats.

Would need to suddenly become a mid table side but it is possible. In all reality we need to become much harder to beat at home and win our games against bottom 6 rivals.

When you put it like that it seems unachievable for us based on what we have seen so far. But the same will go for the others near us. The "6 pointers" are going to be decisive. Lose a few of them and we leave ourselves too much to do.

Maybe we could get Dyno Rod to sponsor us and make it our mission to flush the Everton turd. Could see 36 maybe being enough but not less than that as there will be 1 team in 17th up and around that mark in my opinion.

I reckon 28 points will keep you up this season…..

I think it’ll be a tad higher but in the 30 - 32 point range.

Mid table teams will Zone out.

Our run is though is against bottom end, so it won’t favour us’

We only need a point more than two of Ipswich, Wolves and Everton..

Whilst we are a win away from safety during this horrendous bad run, it ain't too bad.

Edit, but answering the six wins question;

It's the mid table shite you can pick points up against; Fulham at home, man U at home, Brentford at home, ....saints at home should be a gimme. Means we need a couple out of the bag,.like the appalling west ham away and a big relegation off v Ipswich

Edit edit; the draws

Everton, wolves, spurs, palace and maybe bum a big unexpected point like away at Newcastle again

We are likely to lose at least another 8 games on paper unless we dramatically improve our form on the pitch against sides we are inferior to.

Tottenham (a) - loss
Arsenal (h) - loss

Chelsea (a) - loss

Manchester City (a) - loss

Newcastle (h) - loss

Brighton (a) - loss

Liverpool (h) - loss

Notts Forest (a) - loss

That gives us 10 games to get points from.

I would say we need at least realistically 20+ points from those games against sides around us and potentially we could win, to give us a fighting chance of staying up.

Palace (h)

Fulham (h)

Everton (a)

Brentford (h)

Manchester United (h)

Wolves (a)

West Ham (a)

Southampton (h)

Ipswich (h)

Bournemouth (a)

The task at hand is a very tough one no denying that it’s absolutely crucial we bring in some quality players in January.

Why is 38 points the barometer?

Given the quality of the league and how few points already in place by this stage from the bottom 3/4, it'll take a lot less to survive.

And it'll be all the more embarrassing that we get relegated with that being the case.

I think it'll be 30 points max to survive.

Which means we're looking at 5 wins and a draw. From somewhere.

I can only pinpoint the next couple of home league games, Ipswich at home, Southampton at home and maybe sneaking an away win from somewhere for those victories. I genuinely don't see where we get other points from right now.

It’s unlikely we will need that many to survive but that target would most certainly keep us up. I think 34 points will be enough , but it may come down to goal difference! So we have to improve on that front somehow.

Palace (h) is a MUST WIN. Any other result we can confirm EFL next season.

We need a RB this January window at a minimum, a new CB too really

Considering we seem to pick up a grand total of fvck all points in matches we aren't expected to such as yesterday, it puts huge pressure on winning the other matches that don't fall into that category.

The only game that doesn't fall into that category now is Saints at home. Every other game is against a team above us. It's already over imo.

As we NEVER get anything against a top 6 side the task looks slightly difficult with basically 12 more matches (taking out the top 6 matches) to gain the points. Would require a drastic change in attitude and fortune. Seems impossible IMO

Get the right players in.. all of those home games in the second list are winnable to be fair.. so it is achievable albeit with a monstrous upturn in form
