We buy players for a specific manager, often as a direct request from the manager or maybe even agent recommendation due to links we have. Okoli being under the same agency as Cooper for example.

 

The manager quickly goes but we are lumbered with the player who quickly becomes unsuited to the next managers style but we also have no common sense approach for cutting our losses to try and ensure the next manager has the necessary tools to do what they need in terms of squad profile.

 

It's rinse and repeat as these players have to run their contracts down and we've continued to make the same mistakes over and over.

Cullen is likely to be this year's Okoli, Martin will invariably move on within a few months and the next man will piss themselves laughing when they try and find a use for him.

Looking forward to us signing some fanny that can't defend to replace him all because he can pass the ball before we go out and hire someone like Dave Challinor to replace Martin.

I’d much rather we sell him undervalue and get him gone, then do this dance and eventually lose him for nothing anyway.  


If we genuinely stick an 8m option on this deal, he could be their best player every week and they still won’t pay it

Jesus mate, that’s the most optimistic post I’ve read all week. Maybe swap Challinor  for Troy deeney and it will be a bit more accurate

Any pragmatic properly run club would have sussed this but we continually go down the same route . Any of the usual suspects sent on loan + option will definitely be returning once the loanee club works with them every day

It’s the way that we pat ourselves on the back for a good option being placed in the deal lol You can imagine how Rudkin relays that deal to top and the stupid naive twonk laps it up to thinking it’s a done deal.

Honestly just take anything we can get. 
 

Signed for premier league football, relegated & relegated again in the championship. Treats the ball like a bouncy dog ball, not in the slightest way physical as he’s always off balance and running on ice (Van Nistelrooy noticed he’s always falling over, thinking it was his boots. When infact it’s actually just because he’s 💩) , that awful back pass in pre season (Red flag Martin didn’t see this and bin him off), Laughing in the face of league 1 strikers, to then concede. 3 years of embarrassing himself, summed up in🤞his last game vs Burton. 

 

Sums up the state of the Italian national side the fact he was anywhere near it. 
 

Genuinely feel sorry for whoever he joins!

I think Okoli genuinely has tried, he's just not very good. Personally enjoyed his goal celebration with the away fans when we drew at Brighton.

 

I get the frustration but I didn't like fans booing his every touch at 0-2 on Saturday. I think he'll be pushing harder for the exit door after that and it's best for both parties if we get a deal done.

I agree, think he definitely goes on loan.

 

We are linked with 2 CB which means two are off at least.
