Please LCFC, owners, DoF, give us some hope for the new season by sorting our squad as soon as possible.

You will need the fans very much onside for next season but to initiate a feel good factor we need to see some action.

I’m not overly worried when it comes to certain positions mentioned.

I thoroughly expect a slight clear out when it comes to CB’s, but even if we miss out on permanent targets, as I’ve mentioned in this thread before, the Premier League loan market will be a hotbed for CB targets next season.

Yasin Ozcan(Aston Villa), Aaron Anselmino(Chelsea), Josh Acheampong(Chelsea), Bashir Humphreys(Chelsea), Jahmai Simpson-Pusey(Man City), Juma Bah(Man City), Ayden Heaven(Man Utd), Tyler Bindon(Forest), Ashley Phillips(Spurs), Luka Vuskovic(Spurs)

There’s a plethora of highly rated Premier League CB’s who could well be available for loan next season. Like we did with Callum Doyle, I’d think it would be a wise move to target that certain market again.

As for wingers, as much as I’d like Kwame Poku and can see him stepping up to the Championship, the question is, do we really need him? We’re well covered on RW, and even though some fans don’t rate McAteer, he proved last season that he is competent enough back-up in the Championship, plus if we’re able to keep hold of Monga, there’s another option. Maybe competition for Mavididi on the left side is the only wide signing we need, but both Monga and Alves could cover there.

Kasper Hogh from Bodo Glimt.

Good presence, calm finisher and really smart movement in the box. Captain at 24 suggests a good personality too.

7 goals in europa league shows he shouldn't struggle moving to a higher level than Norwegien Eliteserien.

I'd be eyeing up his coach Kjetil Knutsen too.

Louie Barry on loan? I can't see him breaking into the Villa XI just yet, but you'd think he's not far off and they'd be quite happy to send him on loan to a Champion side pushing for promotion.

GK - Stolarczyk, back up goalkeeper

RB - Coulibaly, JJ, Ricardo

CB - Coady, New starter needed, Nelson, Souttar

LB - Starter needed, Thomas

CDM - Skipp, Ndidi, Winks, Hamza

RW - Fatawu, Monga, McAteer

CAM - El Khannouss, Alves

LW - Mavididi, Alves, McAteer

ST - New striker, Vardy, Evans

Need:

Back up goalkeeper

Centre back

Left back

New striker

Invest any money available on a centre back, left back and new striker. Blood through the youth and obviously replace any of the players in the squad if they don’t hang around.

Poku should be signed should Monga leave.

1 thing for sure, the loans we will go after should not be our best players or fill a hole we urgently need to fill…unless we can secure options to buy if promoted.

Agree with much of this other than the CM options. I don’t want to keep failed prem players who can ‘do a job’ in the champ, to be in the same situation 12 months down the line.

When we got promoted in 13/14, yes it was exciting as it was the first time in 10 years back in the prem but also as we had a core group of players untested in the Prem who we knew had a high ceiling and potential to do well in the prem, some more than others. (Schmeichel, Morgan, Drinkwater, James, Mahrez, Vardy)

Compare that to last season and we got promoted with a core including Vestegaard, Faes, Justin, Winks, Ndidi with failed signings Soumare and Kristiansen joining the squad along with more failed prem players Skipp, Ayew and BDR.

If and when we next get promoted, I want it to be with a core group of players who are young and hungry to prove themselves in the Prem and have that potential and unknown quality. Just makes it more fun and exciting rather than being promoted with winks and Ndidi again

Bang on. I actually think we could whittle that cdm four down to just one, Skipp, whom we are stuck with for a little while.

Hamza is doing OK at Sheff United and could persuade them to part with a nominal 1-2m max.. straight in to the psr

Wilf could fetch 4-5m maybe, and Winks could potentially attract interest from someone like Burnley for around 3 or 4 million which should be enough to get rid.

Must be plenty of decent options around league one that are ready to move up the leagues to replace any of them, or even in some of the smaller European leagues.

It's one of them where I'd personally watch us in the championship for a couple seasons having a thorough rebuild and going back up with a chance of staying there..  unfortunately though I think financially we're going to just yo-yo for 5 or 6 more seasons with more disappointing signings and an average squad age of 42

If we lose El Khannous, I would say Ringo Meerveld at Willem II is the perfect replacement, I've seen Willem II play live a few times this season (I live part-time in the area) they were having a decent season but then went on a Leicester style losing run which will likely lead to relegation (I've not had a great year supporting teams), Meerveld is head and shoulders above anyone else playing in the team, I wouldn't be surprised if a Dutch giant goes in for him but if no one offers him European football, the Championship is better than the Dutch 2nd division and other Eredivisie teams wouldn't be able to match the wages we could offer.

He's 22, bags of technical ability and will command big transfer fees in the future. Only issue is that he's a bit short but hard to knock off the ball!

Depending on whether or not they come up, might be worth trying to poach Kone off Wycombe. Though given his form, wouldn't be surprised to see someone like West Ham or Everton take a punt to pad out their squad. We're not in that bracket anymore - cheers Jon.  :dunno:

I don’t know. It is well known we will be overhauling that position. If we let Vardy go and sell Daka, we have no senior striker. I think in that case, Kone would have the sense to see the opportunity to be first choice in the championship than padding out the squad of a Premier League also fan club.

Whet a final run in Wycombe have by the way. Charlton (4th), Leyton Orient (6th) and Stockport (5th) in their last 3!

Been keeping my eye on Kone, and like his talent but his goalscoring has dried up a little recently.

Believe Wycombe rejected £6m in January, so I do wonder what price it would take, especially if they go up

Whats his best position? Looked at a quick video and he looks like an 8 to me

CDM, Kante type of player, but he’s decent on the ball too. Won’t score many goals, but his recovery running is unbelievable!

Wouldn't say no, solid at Championship level

In general, we need players

- that actually want to play for the shirt

- that don't command outrageous wages and fees

- that can play football (skill-wise)

- that aren't past their prime

A competent, sturdy, tough center midfield would be nice. And defenders that can actually defend.

And a manager who knows what he is doing.

Shame on the management in the past few transfer windows.
