I think it's more to do with having a experienced GK to help organise the defense.

Having a gk that has a save percentage of 75% helps in the top 22 of the big 5 leagues.

Ward has experience that didn’t help him

We are going to need at least 1 new goalkeeper for next season

 

After June the only senior keeper we will realistically have on the books is Jakub

 

If Mads still isn't that close to being back then I can understand why they might be looking around for one to bring in now

 

To me it would also make sense for that keeper to be a more experienced one to be competing with Jakub as well

Ward isn't a leader or a good keeper.

 

Add to the fact Iversen and Ward are out of contract in the summer.

 

We sale Hermansen and just have Jakub left.

 

We will need two keepers between now and the start of next season.

This position should be looked at in the summer. Hopefully mads will be back soon and Jakub is doing fine.

If we're short of money then we need to spend it on positions that need improving now.

An experienced keeper in the squad isn't a bad thing and something we are missing. Ward is top rated poo, Iversen is not good enough and Jakub is inexperienced. Having a keeper with experience and knowhow isn't a bad thing to call upon. 

 

Don't know anything about this guy, but the profile is good. Going into next season with one keeper isn't feasible or sensible.

I agree - but the fear is that Mads is out for a long time, or (hopefully not) the rest of the season. Jakub doesn't seem to be doing too bad, but maybe Ruud thinks otherwise.

If. Mads is out long term then we do need competent cover/competition for Jakub especially as Iversen will gone in the summer or maybe there js a chance to offload now for a nominal fee, so we need to being in a replacement.

If Mads will not play for us again, I think a new GL is a main priority.

No coincidence that this poor run of for coincides with Mads absence.

I don’t thing we would have conceded as many goal (and would have at least picked up the odd point) if he had been playing recently.
