Perhaps i'm a fool but I see no reason for top to be sticking around for close to two weeks now if we aren't desperately trying to get shit done.

Trying and doing are different things of course... but him being here along with other board members has got to at least indicate some effort.

We are staring relegation down the barrel. We are not an attractive proposition for lads on the up. As we will want to sign them for a dog fight and plead for tiered contracts depending on which league we end up in June.

There is what you'd like to get, and then what you actually can achieve. It's a nightclub at 3am and the bouncer is about to kick you out!

That’s still no excuse!

I was in that position many times in my youth, but still managed to bag whatever munter was available

But presumably we don't want the munter at the centre of our midfield? You need to run with the analogy completely.

Otherwise you just shagged Junior Lewis!!

Disgraceful to have signed 1 player 28 days into the January transfer window when we're in our current position.

I thought we'd get 2 more, and that was me thinking that I was being pretty negative.

Very surprised you'd even believe we could get 3. The club have gone into hiding. Bored of repeating myself, no communication, no accountability. They are making exactly the same mistakes they made last time. Called it a week ago that Woyo was your lot for this window.

By the looks of it, the key decision makers have been at the inquest. They aren't places you can take a call etc. And sounds like Rudkin has been heavily involved in it too. Would explain why Top has been around the last couple of weeks.

So hopefully some movement this week but clearly the clubs focus has been elsewhere.

How do you think the manager feels? "Spat in the face" is the analogy that comes to mind.

There will be at least one more I'm sure of it. Hamza gone to leave a squad space, and we've taken in 10m for Cannon to give us a small pot to play with. I'd imagine it'll be a last minute deal though from the bargain basement.

We'll have 3 or 4 potential signings (loan from abroad) lined up, and we will get the 1 that either the player has no better option and/or the current club has no better offer.

We've definitely sold Cannon and loaned Hamza for specific reasons. I think RVN when asked if there were funds and plans for January, he was aware that players would need to be sold. I think he miscalculated how bad we were at it.

I dont think we will get many more but perhaps one more. I think we are skating on thin ice with the approach.

He's been here because of the helicopter crash inquest

honestly, I think some of our targets are holding out for better moves. Bo one else wants them, they may give us the green light on deadline day.also, some clubs like to get players in before they let players go.. expecting us to get 2–3 more inn the last couple of days..

If we don't sign anyone else which is entirely possible, that's two January windows in a row that we've ended the window with a weaker squad than when we started.

Totally unforgivable.

We dodged a bullet with Sensi though didn’t we?

The other thing I’m always mindful of is the January window isn’t great for doing business in.

Clubs everywhere are busy with playing, deals are hard to come by and you don’t have the time to get a player in, integrate them and get them them settled in their new surroundings before chucking them on the pitch.

So for me there is a slight dilemma in terms of certain positions on whether it’s sensible to act now, or take a risk and hope to have better opportunities for that position in the summer.

Signing a striker is a position I’m thinking of in particular because outside of Evan Ferguson - who I think would be a great signing for us - I don’t see much in terms of opportunities out there that would certifiably improve the starting 11.

But Sensi wasn't the only player available was he? If anything that just underlines that our recruitment is crap as why was he the target with such a shoddy injury record and likely big wages.

In terms of being sensible, the only sensible think is to gamble and try and get as many players of quality that we can. If we don't, we'll struggle to stay in the division and the damage is far greater than 2/3 players who aren't very good being stuck here for 4 years. Again, because of the club's crap planning.

You don't say! Wherever Top is, Rudkin will literally be only a few metres away.
