The Crown Prosecution Service said that it had authorised the charges against the brothers before an extradition warrant was issued in 2024 to bring them back from Romania. The two British-Americans are under investigation in Romania, facing a number of charges, which they deny - and the CPS said "the domestic criminal matters in Romania must be settled first." The CPS's charging decision came after it received a file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police about allegations made in the UK. The CPS said Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old influencer and former kickboxer, faces 10 charges connected to three alleged victims, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking and controlling prostitution for gain. Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges connected to one alleged victim, including rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. Hopefully, at some point, these two will see the inside of a jail cell. For a long time. Let's hope so. Time catches up with these folk and their secrets can't be hidden for much longer... 1

Or you just press the onions button then stick a 2kg slab of beef on there 1

A British tourist was arrested without warning on arrival there. The reason? He had joined the French Foreign Legion several years previously but decided it wasn't for him and deserted. He returned to the UK and thought no more of it. Foolishly, it didn't occur to him that going back to France on holiday wasn't a good idea. I do recall he ended up serving some time in France as a consequece.

leicsmac Posted 29 May 2025 Posted 29 May 2025 https://archive.is/DjtiZ Marco Rubio has announced US visa restrictions for foreigners “who are complicit in censoring Americans”. In a post on X, the US secretary of state said that “for too long, Americans have been fined, harassed and even charged by foreign authorities for exercising their free speech rights”. Foreigners who “undermine” those rights, he said, “should not enjoy the privilege of travelling to our country”. Rubio added: “Even as we take action to reject censorship at home, we see troubling instances of foreign governments and foreign officials picking up the slack. In some instances, foreign officials have taken flagrant censorship actions against US tech companies and US citizens and residents when they have no authority to do so. “Today, I am announcing a new visa restriction policy that will apply to foreign nationals who are responsible for censorship of protected expression in the United States. It is unacceptable for foreign officials to issue or threaten arrest warrants on US citizens or US residents for social media posts on American platforms while physically present on US soil.” Rubio’s announcement comes as Samuel Samson, a senior state department aide, accused Britain and other countries in Europe of becoming “a hotbed of digital censorship, mass migration, restrictions on religious freedom, and numerous other assaults on democratic self-governance”. The arrogant self importance, to say nothing of the hypocrisy (for one, by "religious freedom" they mean freedom of Evangelical and Baptist Christianity with the associated right to view women as breeding stock, not any other religion), is rather staggering. 2 1

davieG Posted 29 May 2025 Posted 29 May 2025 A brand new statue of the Soviet dictator Josef Stalin has been unveiled at a Metro station in Moscow. Meanwhile, an adviser to President Putin recently argued that the Soviet Union in fact still exists, because of a procedural error in the process of dissolving it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/videos/cz63n6j7407o

It's pre-Revolution of 1917 Russia that's in vogue there now, not post-Revolution.

Feel sorry for his kids who will either get bullied at school or have their lives moved somewhere else for fear for bullying. Obviously a potentially life changing event for the victims (although fingers crossed not to the extent it looked like it would be) it's an unusually extreme situation for an apparently "normal" person and to find themselves in, isn't it? I've made myself feel dirty by going on the Daily Mail website, where of course they've been through his social media and spoken to the bloke that services his car etc. Prejudices and all that aside he's being portrayed as the LAST sort of person that would do this - ex forces, ex relatively senior NHS, company director etc etc. It's like one of my lovely Western Park neighbours going off the rails. I notice that there's no charge for driving while unfit through drugs charge which was one of the things he was originally arrested for. I was expecting some thick necked super masculine cokehead, but he doesn't appear to be that. Not really any point speculating what's gone on here but it's all a bit strange 1
