No because he's not really an RB anymore. As soon as Cooper played him there he got injured again. Played a whole season as a 6 (occasionally 8) with barely a knock or a niggle. He was brilliant last season and would be far more attack minded than any of the current CMs.

I've always liked him as a player but he's very injury prone isn't he and I don't really get this aversion we have to wanting to sign actual left backs.

Having looked at the apparent injuries on transfermarket, it’s a couple of muscle injuries and his biggest one an hamstring injury which if the dates are correct then could have appeared to have been avoided

Nobody really doubts he'd improve the team I don't think. 

 

He's just always injured.
