I think I’m right in saying he had opportunity to go out on loan at beginning of season but was being told he was a valued member of the first team so stayed. Then the club bring in Ayew, BcR, Buonnottee and El Khannous - all of whom play in his positions. Let’s hope he gets minutes and shows his full potential there. I as told exactly the same by someone ITK. The club concerned are now sitting pretty in Div. 1.

I heard he had more options than one club to go to. Made to feel a big part of first team plans under Maresca then froze out by Cooper who would only pick on experience no matter what. Ruud no doubt made his own mind up but wouldn’t surprise me if his confidence was knocked with the changes of managers and the focus on new players. Two very experienced. Two lads of similar age (with more first team experience). Must be disheartening when you’re not even being given a chance. 2
StanSP Posted 31 January 2025 Posted 31 January 2025 Fingers crossed he does well there. Good that he can get some competitive football under his belt in a challenging league. 1
Lionator Posted 31 January 2025 Posted 31 January 2025 Any Cardiff fans reading this, he’s the absolute mustard. 1

Popular Post ALC Fox Posted 31 January 2025 Popular Post Posted 31 January 2025 Hopefully this is the Barnes to West Brom loan that indicates he's ready for us next season. 7
Skidmark Posted 31 January 2025 Posted 31 January 2025 Would be a great move for him. Decent championship club. All ready for next season!

Annoying thing is... the "Barnes to West Brom" loan... as it happened... would have been ideal for us this season but we denied him a loan in the summer. 2
Popular Post Lambert09 Posted 31 January 2025 Popular Post Posted 31 January 2025 Perfect. If he smashes it, there’s no excuses left not to bring him into the side next season. 5

leicesterlad1989 Posted 31 January 2025 Posted 31 January 2025 Cardiff and Birmingham wanted him in the summer on loan. Let's hope the club doesn't piss him about again. 1
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 31 January 2025 Posted 31 January 2025 Big test for him. The recent bar was set by Barnes at Barnsley and West Brom at a similar level, he needs to be making a similar impact. 1

Fox92 Posted 31 January 2025 Posted 31 January 2025 Would've preferred him going to a club that's not part of a relegation battle.

Let's hope he does smash it, but the kid has only scored a handful of goals in his career at any level so far. If we are a Premier League club next season, it's highly likely he'll need another loan at least in the first half of the season.
AyewJoking Posted 31 January 2025 Posted 31 January 2025 (edited) Best thing is it doesn't weaken us cos he never fooking played Edited 31 January 2025 by Royston.

You want to see if he has what it takes to turn up when the pressure is on. You can't see what he's really made of if he spends half hos loan spell playing meaningless mid table games in the Championship.
