It's only rejected because it's a loan with no money surely. If it's 5m + 3m at the end of the season we'd be accepting.

 

Doesn't benefit us (in terms of a replacement) to loan him out does it.

To be honest if we don't have a good enough first team squad which we don't due to incompetence from Rudkin we may as well clear out whatever we can to help PSR. Thomas and Mcateer are pure profit.

We have no money for new players but keep rejecting offers for our own homegrown talent like McAteer and Thomas which would give us instant profit and are hardly players who are playing regularly in the first team.

 

What am I missing here?

This is madness if true and just adds to everything stale and stagnant at the club.  As a fan base we always complain that we can never shift anyone on. Could it be that we have been getting offers and just turning them down. In last 18months is it not Thomas, mactee and Iverson that would could have got nearly 20 million for? That’s also 20 mill that is nearly all PSR profit. Complete disgrace of a club. The year is 2025 it’s mental we are still even discussing these average players, should have been moved on long ago. This club is horrible.

Athletic says they’re prepping a new offer and we are looking for a replacement on their live feed, think it’ll get done but highly highly doubt we replace

Leicester reject Sunderland loan offer for McAteer

Latest from Sky Sports News' Keith Downie: 

Leicester have rejected a loan offer from Sunderland for Kasey McAteer. 

Sunderland explored a straight loan, and loan with obligation for the winger. Leicester do not want to lose the 23-year-old. 

Sunderland looking for a replacement for Tommy Watson, who is in talks with Brighton over an £8.5m and add-ons move to the south coast.
