Didn't realise Hull were on the same points as Ipswich. They don't play either them or Boro now, already played both twice - they do have Cov to come though...

While there's also one more Boro / Ipswich fixture to come, the three teams below Cov have the opportunity to catch them 100% if they turn up in their games against them. The Tractor Boys already did their bit - 6 points out of 6.

If the planets align and Boro decide to actually turn up for their own reverse fixture against Cov, they could not only be off top spot but potentially out of the automatics by mid-March if not sooner. Who knows, maybe by the time Ipswich and Boro play each other again in April it'll be those two fighting for the top spot (or trying to keep pace with Hull) while Cov are floundering in 4th or 5th... come on Football Gods, we've had enough torture the past few years, let us just have this one ray of light!

Norwich will be ahead of us by mid Feb regardless of a potential points deduction. Only a matter of time before Sheff Utd overtake us too and Southampton whilst crap will be ahead of us. I think we're all but down.

Norwich have actually got a decent squad and are having a good Jan window. Now they've got a decent, positive manager they could be that team that charges up the table 2nd half of the season. They'll finish comfortably top half.

Coventry getting away with loads again

Cov should have had 2 players sent off here

I’d expect Thomas-Asante to get a retrospective ban for his elbow. Absolute thuggery.

Mark Robins returns to the true blue side in the midlands. We hit a mega winning run, Cov fall into the playoffs. We beat Derby in the semis and play Cov in the final where a last minute goal from Cov born Monga wins the tie.

Sorry that isn’t what I think just what Rudkin told Top when he asked “when we promote Jon”

Ironic chants from our lot

Coventry fans thought they had the league wrapped up at the end of October.

Fireworks. The Enemy playing in the corner of their ground. Talk online of ground expansions. Doug King - man of the people.

This is going to be glorious.

  • The average points for teams finishing 21st over the last 21 seasons is 48.2 points.
  • We're on 38 points.
  • Averaging 1.3 points per game, trending to finish on 60 points.
  • Target 50 points = safety
  • 12 points required + maybe 9 max to account for a deduction? A target of 59 points, out of 17 games / 51 points remaining.
  • So maintaining current form + a 9 points deduction means we're just about OK, but we're on thin ice!

Any sort of downturn in form, a bigger deduction, or one team down there having a great escape and we could go down.

Of the teams down there:

vs Norwich 3/3 points

vs Charlton 3/3 points

vs West Brom 4/6 points

vs Portsmouth 1/3 points

vs Blackburn 0/3 points

vs Oxford 1/6 points

vs Sheff Weds 3/3 points

So Charlton (H), Norwich (H), Sheffield Weds (A), Portsmouth (A) and Blackburn (A) (on the final day!) are pretty crucial

Fair play to Wrexham - made an error and rectified it within 5 games and got rid in the next window. That must be nice. You can forgive errors when that's how they're dealt with.

That's good news for us because Charlton are right in this already and he is awful. Wrexham looked horrendous when he played and massively upturned when they dropped him.

can Conor play on Saturday? Would be great to see Ayew tear him a new one

Ayew couldn't tear his way out of a paper bag!

The only thing Ayew is tearing is his hammie!

Hull's, actual points versus their expected points is absolutely crazy. Not the be all and end all, but when you're so far ahead of the curve, it'll eventually catch up a little bit so wouldn't be surprised to see them have a real sticky patch at some point

Not often you see that long service nowadays, nearly 500 games for Wednesday.

Agreed, last summer I predicted them to get promoted 😂

I wonder if we've been fed hook, line and sinker on how difficult it is to move players on that flop. Wrexham certainly have some financial flexibility to cut some losses on this but we'd not be able to.

There’s almost always an off ramp for shit players, it’s just Rudkin ****s at about every juncture he can.

- Overpay on the fee

- Overpay on the wage

- Means the PSR break even needs to be higher

- Nobody can afford the fee so a loan is the option

- They don’t take it up permanently

- They player won’t take a pay cut

- Another offer comes in but we decide we want more

- Another loan

-Leave on a free

After his interview the other day it’s apparent he’ll have no idea Perez, Soyuncu, Mendy, Praet etc left on frees, he doesn’t pay attention

Should be doing workshops up and down the country on how not to do it.
