Surely you wouldn't state you wanted a break from football then take another job?  He'd just leave.

Yeah Fulham would still have to pay same compensation regardless

It does change a lot though.

Ipswich will have been turning down smaller compensation offers knowing that they still have their manager they'd like to keep.

Suddenly they don't have him to keep, so smaller compensation offers are at some point obviously going to be better than nothing at all.

2 year deal for both. Which I think is fine. 12 months is unrealistic nowadays.

We have an option of a 3rd year with Jimenez.

Your gaffa has just been binned.. not sure there's a plan at all for you lads 🤔

There is - All back aboard the Jorge Mendes train!

I wasn't fussed about Edwards leaving as he's not very good, but apparently he only found out because his family told him of the rumours late last night, called the club up, and they conformed he'd been sacked. Which is a shit thing to do.

This new bloke has a reasonable reputation in Portugal for his time at Gil Vicente but he's not managed outside Portugal so is a coin flip whether he'll be any good.

I’m not sure why you’d choose Fulham over Ipswich tbh if that’s the case. Hopefully they go down. The Premier League does have quite a bit of tin pot in it at the moment.

Established Premier league club near enough 4 middle table finishes from the last 4 years.

19 seasons in the Prem since 2000.
Or Ipswich

That was my thought. Were they expecting him to keep them up or something? Bizarre.

They were record breakingly back up until he came in, they were never going to stay up and even having for that would have translated to I don’t know, 50/60 points over a season would be unrealistic given where they were. It seemed they had kind of levelled out and bit, accepted relegation was coming and were preparing for the Championship but maybe their owner did think he would keep them up?

And why not as soon as the season was finished or relegation was mathematically confirmed?

From the outside looking in Edwards seemed to do well at Wolves but he'd suck his own dong if he could, no thanks

Supposedly got the hump when they denied permission to speak to them so he’s basically told them that if they won’t allow him to leave to another club, he’ll simply not work.

Fulham have spent 14 out of the last 20 seasons in the top flight, Ipswich have spent just 1 season out of the last 20 in the top flight. Of course Ipswich have won more historically but recently Fulham are the better club and nobody has a right to play at any level.

I don't mind Fulham, they're pretty harmless.

He did ok to start with. Had one decent run of games and then was crap. No different to before he came.

To be completely fair, you had nothing to play for so it’s extremely hard to motivate the team. I think getting that string of results you did should have been enough to show he was capable of getting a tune out of what you had.

I think yourselves and west ham  walk the league anyway, so it’s not like it will bite you but still extremely harsh imo
