I think Bristol City have had backroom changes. Not 100% certain but didn't get appoint a new DOF and then I thought the plan was for Hodgson to move upstairs too but I think he ended up going.

Sounds like Lincoln City need a experienced operator in the Championship who will definitely keep them up, step up Gary Rowett

I suspect their fans would take that.

Yeah a new Sporting Director from Arsenal and demoted their version of Rudkin,  Brian Tinnion.

Ellis the new SD has worked with Skubala in the past and they're close apparently.

There was never any plan for Roy to stay in any capacity beyond the end of last season. Was merely a weird favour to Richard Scudamore to take over for a few games, for whatever reason.

Weird decision, wouldnt say Bristol City are anymore bigger than Lincoln.

You have had a bit of a nightmare here - Bristol is five times the size and has a massive catchment in the SW - if they ever get their act together they could be a force !

Bristol could be a huge side if they are ever competently ran. It seems for now they are at least a level above us in competency, just a few more birthdays before we think about a manager

nah, they're on the same scale as us, never be huge.

I think Bristol and South West is probably bigger than us surrounded by Forest/Derby etc.

We are now on the scale of the mighty MK Dons thanks to Top and Jon’s lovin roadshow.

They could have a decent sized fanbase so you are correct to an extent, but they'd never be as "big" a club as us. Our history, standing in the game, legendary players who have played for the club, core fanbase and worldwide recognition is world's apart from Bristol City.

Even if they got their act together they'd just be another Brighton - very little history or standing in the game but with a decent fan base these days. Even then there would be a job on their hands to convince those from Weston-super-Mare and the like to change their allegiance from Manu Utd etc to Bristol City.

Bristol City fairly sized club without being big, its not like they have been in premier league recently. I wouldnt say there big as someone like Middlesbrough who have had spells in the premier league and have one cup to there name.  If Lincoln werent promoted id get the move.

Christ let's make this simple...

We're bigger than Bristol City but are now in Div 1 unfortunately...

Bristol City are bigger than Lincoln who are now in the same division as them...

That's why Scubs has gone to Bristol City.

If we'd had stayed in the Champs and wanted him he would have come to us.

Unless a bigger club in the Champs or any team in the Prem wanted him.

Kinda how football works and has always worked.

It's not difficult.

You think they're comparable to us?

Bristol City have spent 5 seasons in the top division in their history and have won a grand total of ZERO major honours. In the last 100 years the highest level trophy they've won is League 1/Division 3 and they've not been to a single final.

Compare that with us, we've won the Premier League, 8 Championships, the FA Cup, 3 League Cups and 2 Charity Shields. We've also been to 10 finals.

We're one of 14 clubs to have won everything in English football and since the turn of the millennium are the 6th most successful side in England.

I think a lot of people on here just like to degrade us. They have plenty of ammo at the minute but it's always been there. It's in part why when shit has hit the fan, we haven't reacted like other clubs our size would have done.

I've used the word gaslighting a lot because the achievements have allowed this "entitled" tag to be branded from the top down in the club. Top referring to us as a small midlands team when he come in.

When in reality I don't know any fan who wouldn't have been content with us battling relegation in Premier League. Even that would have been a hell of a drop off. But it's not hard to see how the most unprecedented decline in history has happened.

It's been enabled by this self deprecation that's always existed at Leicester. Even before the Premier League win, when we were had exactly the same sort of crowds as Forest and Derby and better recent history we still seemed to have far more of our own put us down. Id never want us to be as deluded as Forest fans are about their status, but if you were to go on their forums any time in last 20 years and give them shit they'd defend their team to the extreme. We just have a bunch of fans who join in if anyone does similar on here.

Bristol itself has a massive catchment. As a city, it is perhaps the most under performing in the country in those terms having achieved nothing.

Whereas we have a reasonable return for a city of our size and as a club, we are obviously much bigger even if they have the potential going forwards if they realise it.

Points deduction looming?

I don’t think so. It’s based on the 24/25 accounts in the top flight, if you look at what they sold last summer and the reduction in wages then they’ll be just fine. Especially if you look at what they owe in comparison to West Ham…

True. Years ago I worked for a multinational corporation and one of the owners wanted to get into football by buying a stack in a club. He was advised at the time to look at Bristol City (and Plymouth), purely because it has so much potential to grow.

Yeah Plymouth too, good shout. They have pretty much Cornwall and Devon available to them until you get into the north of Devon and close to Exeter. The main club in Cornwall is what, Truro? And Devon wise after Plymouth and Exeter, Torquay?

Bet the ‘big 5’ have a right following down there though
