Wellp, we can chalk up Wrexham as another side who almost certainly leapfrog us when the points deduction hits. Nice one bottling two points against them lads.

The mighty cov beaten who would have thought it. Knew it would happen at some point if someone had a decent striker against them so let’s see how they get on over the next few weeks

There isn’t a single standout team in this league. It’s as piss poor as it’s been for years. Cov have had a decent start, but they’ve got a starting 11 and that’s it, they could easily come crashing down.

Only problem is, I include us in that cluster of shit teams.

Is it actually happening?

Reckon it'll be just a suspended one, at most.

lol Kiefer Moore has scored three times the amount of goals in one game that three of our strikers have scored all season.

And there were a fair few fans on here that slated him and wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole.. same with Ollie McBurnie

The result will be much more satisfying if we don't get bummed by Blackburn tomorrow.

4-0 loss that means Wrexham jump us on GD incoming then

Honestly I've just come to the conclusion that our fanbase are actually clueless when it comes to strikers and make the wrong call pretty much every time. I'll hold my hands up and say I've done it many times in the past. The Tom Cannon mental gymnastics when we missed out on Piroe and got him instead being a prime example.

A good chunk of this place also shrugged off the idea of Kone from Wycombe on some vague reasoning that his stats had dropped at the back end of the season and he was 'only' playing League One opposition. Because it's not like out GOAT was playing non league before coming to us, yaknow?

In fact I'm racking my brains as to the last signing we made up front where the consensus amongst the fanbase was that he would deliver and then he actually did. Probably Ulloa after he single-handedly bent us over for Brighton?

I've been on here long enough in various guises to remember us writing off Vardy, begging for Waghorn to come back in, thinking Jermaine Beckford was going to single handedly win us the league, and wondering what on earth we were doing signing David Nugent. lol

The only tiny bit of hope I'm clinging to with the rabble we're stuck with up front is that a decent few of us have written Carranza off already, which means he'll turn out to be decent... right?

EDIT - I will however die on the hill that Harry Kane becoming arguably the best striker in world football is something no sane human being could have ever called after his joke of a season with us. Actual freak of nature, bolt of lightning likelihood based on what we saw.

It’s because nobody wants a safe option. McBurnie and Moore are proven and you know what you will get. It’s natural to want to aim for something better, I have no problem with taking a punt on someone with a higher ceiling… the issue, is that I don’t think that’s what we did. We’ve been incredibly lazy with it and found an easy no commitment deal and I struggle to believe he was well scouted, as the last time he played well was in the states.

I think an agent has put him forward and we’ve gone yep, that works for us. Because I just can’t fathom how anyone with an ounce of judgement watched him play and thought he looked like he’d be a success.

Even if there's a lack of quality, and I dislike both teams, gotta admit it's a good watch.

Both teams playing a high press, fast transitions game, and getting stuck into one another. It's entertaining. A far cry from the shite we serve up.

This is how entertaining games are played.  Good football.

Passion from their lead commentator, reminds me of why I kept listening to opposition team audio in the Enzo season.

Just an ounce of quality and effort from our lot this season and we'd have been straight back up even with the points deduction.

Really is a chance of a lifetime for the likes of Hull, Bristol City Millwall etc to get themselves out of this fvcking horrible league

With the impending deduction one thing we'd have needed to be on with a chance of autos was a season like this where there weren't runaway top 2 or 3. We've ****ed up what was a get out of jail free card for us.

FWIW I was talking to a Wycombe fan and a guy who works for QPR the other day: the Wycombe fan said their arse went out once they lost their manager at the back end of last season, and Kone was no more guilty than anyone else. Both were absolutely convinced he's going to the top because he works his bollocks off and does everything right off the pitch.
