Middlesbrough bottled this season considering they were top for ages.

I'd prefer Hull to go up over Southampton. Be nice to see something different in the Premier League. A decade since they were last a top flight club.

They were top of the league for 13% of the season, hardly ages.

They were in the promotion places for 63% of the season so I’ll give you that.

Hull will get smashed in the PL, even more so than Soton who have been the best team in the championship since 1st November.

A lot of people were saying Middlesbrough were going to overtake Cov when Cov lost a couple games lol

Why will Hull get "smashed"? They were predicted to go down this season and didn't. Sunderland limped at the end of last season but have invested well and now are okay in the Premier League. You never know what will happen in the summer so it's difficult to predict. Aside from last season, Hull have made steady progress since they were bought out.

Got a mate who is a Hull fan.

Top bloke and really friendly people when we went there for the away game.

Considering they avoided relegation on goal difference last season  on the last game they have done amazing.

Hope they get over the line

1/3 of my family are Hull fans so I’m biased 😂

Last night was typical of Boro under their new boss from what I've seen. Lots of effort but offered nothing going forward.

Style seemed a bit odd too, spent quite a lot of time watching Ayling lumping it out to the wings in the hope Conway or Whitaker would get on to it.

They've still not really replaced Latte Lath, but it does seem odd they've got Conway and Whitaker who have both done well as 9's playing on the wings.

Clearly lacked a striker in both legs.

Hardly  had a shot of note after half time .

Couple of injuries didn’t help but they will be disappointed I feel.

Let alone aggrieved after the spying incident

When we played them we were the better team in both games.  Daka missed a simple header at their ground and Ayling got a scruffy last minute equaliser for them at the KP.

Ironically, you could say neither team had a striker.

Southampton will be better equipped for the premier I genuinely fear for Hull if they get there, unless like Sunderland they invest.

Question is though, will Southampton play in the final?

The FA may well kick them out after the spying incident if they are found guilty.

They could award Boro the play off and make it Hull v Boro final

What happened to Leeds? Was just a fine wasn't it?

Yeah, they were fined £200k but the EFL introduced the no-spying rule after that case with the implication that they'd crack down hard on it happening in the future

Don't agree that Middlesbrough bottled it.

They don't have the squad depth and it caught up with them. Not to mention they were without their best player yesterday.

You feel he'll be gone over the summer too. Maybe a big chance for them missed.

People keep banging on a bout the spy thing not being worthy of a points deduction. This is far more worthy than deductions for having bad accounts.

In addition, FIFA recently decided on points deductions for Canada Women spying on their New Zealand counterparts.

Southampton's argument is going to be it's an analyst gone rogue and that's why are asking for more time.

They will get a huge fee for him and rebuild.

Would expect them to finish top two next season and be ahead of both Burnley and Wolves, just not West Ham

Southampton will be given to time to get their story straight. They’ll say it was a rogue employee looking to impress and did this of his own volition and wasn’t asked to do it by anyone in the Club’s hierarchy. The EFL will breathe a sigh of relief and sweep it under the carpet.

They will then win the playoffs and a month later CCTV footage of the same guy outside another club’s training ground from a previous fixture will be released and there will be an unholy legal cluster**** the EFL will botch.

If Saints get banned from the Final then Football should be ashamed.

You can watch loads of videos on opposition etc, what they did was wrong but hardly the end of the world stuff.

What, and Saints didn’t know or question why the employee hadn’t turned up to work that day or who he’d report back to? Even the EFL aren’t going to buy the ‘rogue employee’ line.

Like with Bielsa, they’ll be fined.

That presupposes the EFL actually want to enforce their rules and make a difficult decision. They’ll do everything they can to get this over and done with. I can totally imagine them buying that excuse if it closes the case. They’ll weigh up the legal headache that Boro can give them.

That excuse is already being touted in the media:

”Given Boro are in possession of what they consider “strong” CCTV evidence of the alleged offence, it is understood Southampton will not contest the charge at an independent disciplinary commission scheduled to convene within the next fortnight. They may, however, try to claim the man in question was an intern, desperate to impress and acting unilaterally as a lone wolf.”

really? the rules are there for a reason and they broke them....numerous times(reports are theyve done it a good number of times this season)...while its not end of the world stuff its still wrong on so many levels, not to mention said fixtures here could lead to the richest game in world football...so a massive potential loss in money for boro

i doubt youd be having the same views if it happened to leicester,

also as for saying football should be ashamed....like bruh, football's morale compass is f'd up anyway there is no shame anyway
