Play off final for Hull is incredible given they had a transfer embargo, new manager and only just stayed up last season.

And haven’t actually been that good this season.

Aren’t they like 15th in the table XG-wise?

Yes really over performed all the metrics.

Wouldn't be surprised if we ended up paying more to loan Carranza than Hull have paid for McBurnie this season

There it is.

Also, tell me you’re North African without telling me you’re North African. What a goal.

How has the Hull side we played a few weeks one game from the premier league? lol

That's football I guess

One off game anything can happen, but it would be a big shock if one of boro or Southampton don't go up.

I genuinely used to think it was this when I was about 8.

Similarly my mum used to sing ‘Brian Little’s team’ at the end of that chant too 🙊

I said weeks ago he should have been in serious conversation for manager of the season. Although I did tell my mate that, who supports Hull, and he laughed it off. But from an outside point of view they were not expected to be near top 6 and had a transfer embargo too (most of their players were free). Terrific job.

Such a poor game for football, the league is the worse it’s ever been, and we get relegated 🤨

I get bored of seeing comments like this. If teams aren't where people expect them to be, and other teams overachieve, people just say "the league is poor". Not just Championship either but every league. We need more teams overachieving, in every league, so we don't just have leagues as expected prior to the season starting. Still annoys me when neutrals refer to our Premier League win as "poor league". When did all this even start.

Like I said at the top of the thread, Hull had a transfer embargo and an "unproven" new manager. They weren't expected to be anywhere near top 6 but fair play to them they've had a great season.

Got a mate at Hull and his thoughts are that they have done very well with considering the transfer embargo and some limited funds, but equally they seem to keep falling upwards!

Not a bad thing I guess, when your looks in, your looks in!

Didn't he scored against West Germany in the '82 WC ? Algeria won 2-1 from memory. A massive upset.

Yeah and the fallout from the following match that Austria and West Germany deliberately left at 1-0 to ensure both of them went through at Algeria's expense is both the reason that my dad a) warned me that Germany was a country of cheats before I moved here and b) almost all competitions now play the last game of a group or league stage at the same time.
