Last season, we started mid table when RVN took over. Both Ipswich and Southampton were struggling in relegation zone.

We hired RVN and we went straight back down, but still above Ipswich and Southampton.

This season, Ipswich has been confirmed as going up together with Coventry. Southampton going to Wembley. Leicester relegated. Incredible failure on the managerial and club management side.

Mid table? 1 point and 2 positions above the relegation zone when RVN took over. That lot of players would’ve got relegated under cooper too. Both dreadful appointments.

It’s all down to the decisions at the top and that flows down.

Yep, but it’s not like the starting position under RvN even needed inflating to illustrate the point being made. The fact we beat both quite comfortably at the end of the season and finished at least highest of the relegated 3, to see the seasons all 3 have had this season is shocking.

Oh absolutely. Again comes down to bad appointments and recruitment.

The EFL can today provide an interim update on the ongoing disciplinary proceedings involving Southampton following Tuesday’s Championship Play-Off Semi-Final Second Leg.

The Independent Disciplinary Commission hearing will take place on or before Tuesday, 19 May.

The exact date remains under discussion and is expected to be confirmed shortly.

The Commission will issue its decision as soon as possible following consideration of the relevant submissions and evidence.

As the proceedings are being conducted by an Independent Disciplinary Commission, the EFL does not control the proposed timetable.

Notwithstanding this, the EFL continues to plan on the basis that the Championship Play-Off Final will take place as scheduled on Saturday 23 May, with the kick-off time confirmed as 4.30pm.

Supporters should, however, be aware that the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings may yet result in changes to the fixture.

The EFL has a number of contingency plans should they be required, which also includes consideration of any appeal process, if required.

What a farce, honestly.

Completely unfair on supporters of Southampton and Middlesbrough.

And on Hull fans if the EFL postone the final. Basically telling them to only book travel(or accomodation) that can be fully refunded

They should forfeit the first leg and therefore send Middlesbrough through. I'm sure no team will try it again if its a guaranteed 0-3 loss in all fixtures that proceeding spying.

That's probably my preferred option. Found guilty of cheating in relation to that first leg, automatic 3-0 loss.

However... the second leg was then played out under false circumstances- may have ended differently if Southampton were chasing a 3-goal deficit.

There isn't a perfect outcome available at this stage and I'm not sure which one best protects the integrity of the game/league.

Going on a limb here and saying that whilst it wasn’t cricket, you don’t deserve expulsion for it considering Leeds only got a fine.

This is what happens you employ bloody foreigners as football managers, they don’t respect our cultures and they don’t respect our etiquette around spying during football training

You won't be saying that when Southampton are penalised five runs by the ECB.

It was nothing as egregious as a ball hitting a stay helmet.

Leeds only got a fine because the spying rule didn’t exist then, the spying rule was created because of what Leeds did

I know this would be ridiculously harsh on Southampton fans but the second I heard about this I thought they should be booted out the playoffs. Not sure on the logistics. They won't be but that would be the right thing to do imo

Scenes when Saints get a 50 points deduction, relegating them and leaving us...

Oh, third bottom and down anyway. Never mind.

50 pt deduction for Southampton for spying.

40 pt deduction for Middlesbrough for snitching.

Oxford and Leicester stay up.
