Also think it's very convenient that they've admitted to Oxford away and Ipswich at home - two games they didn't win and were therefore fairly inconsequential other than arguably Middlesbrough should've finished above them and got the home leg 2nd. There's no way it only happened three times. Absolutely no chance.

I think I just really dislike seeing teams achieve things by default. It won't actually happen but if Man City are stripped of their titles, using an extreme example, we've now got a load of clubs netting Premier League trophies by default and is that seriously what people want?

It is a really tough one. I may be underplaying it but I can't get too worked up about this. Football clubs are always pushing boundaries and looking to gain any advantage- I know VAR is involved so it won't happen but if a Boro player dived to win a penalty that won the game, would they be bothered about good faith and all that?

I understand financial rules- clubs cannot be allowed to seriously overspend and risk meltdown- but, honestly, if a club was spying on us, it wouldn't particularly bother me. Fans get so sanctimonious about these things.

The appeal decision will come in the next couple of hours.....Hull v Boro and the 4 points wiped from saints for next season.

I see Watford are set to appoint the Lech Poznan manager.

I hope he is introduced with his back to the cameras.

Maybe just void the whole season and start again?

This is the only logical explanation in my opinion.

I've started proceedings to take Southampton to a small claims court for my train ticket, burger and various inflatables I bought on the away day.

Meanwhile Man City sit on 115 charges and no sign of a swift resolution. Load of bollocks.

Two minds on it really. On one hand it does seem a really harsh penalty for what is a pretty minor thing really, doubt they really gained much from it.

On the other hand they cheated in the play off semi final so being handed a defeat in that match isn't inappropriate when looked at in that way.

"Sky Sports News understands the hearing will begin at 6pm on Wednesday. The EFL has acknowledged this could result in a further change to Saturday's fixture, which is now scheduled to see Hull City take on Middlesbrough."

Well bugger me. I thought it was being heard all day and a decision this evening.

What an utter mess. If it gets overturned then it makes a mockery of the whole competition.

What should happen is they get the punishment, they appeal the result is then in the public domain. EFL release statement and clubs involved. Then there wouldn't be any doubt over the result and it's final. This releasing before the appeal and then get this mess is just ridiculous.

Just release the actual final decision.

i agree its a load of bollocks in regards the Man City stuff, even the hearing/evidence was done well over 18months ago, even think a verdict might be known by a small few

The EFL have wasted a load of time on this the margin was so small and late of Southamptons win why didn't they just replay the game, if it had to be behind closed doors due to arranging security etc that's a punishment to Southampton as they don't have the home crowd, unfair on Hill all this.

The only logical, fair and reasonable outcome is to award us  6 points  for our defeats in which Southampton seemed suspiciously familiar with our set pieces (so much so they gave us a 3 goal head start in one game). As for the cup game I’ll let that one pass, just call it 2 million pounds in compensation. Sorted

Shouldn't take that long.......Saints have admitted they did what they did,it's just the severity of the sanctions......but i don't think they have a leg to stand on knowing the rules since Leeds did the same. For their manager to say it goes on all the time in Germany is not an excuse for not knowing the rules overe here. From what i'm hearing the owner and board knew nothing about this either(They would say that) but either way Saints are going to be looking for a new manager and back room staff next season and the club will be picked out for the "Cheats" chant from opposition fans everywhere..........Was it worth it?

I mean… everyone’s busy watching the BBC live commentary page to await the outcome, but nobody’s watching Wembley.

They could easily sneak in and set up camp.
