I see Hull are consulting lawyers regarding them being automatically given a place in the Premier League. They don't feel that they should be made to play Boro.

The absolute best case scenario for Southampton was it’d go down to two points as the points deductions are for Oxford and Ipswich. They were never going to disappear. You cant impose any other sporting sanction for the boro game other than removing them, its a knockout competition.

Haven’t Hull said they are considering legal action if they lose? That’s what I’ve read and that is not the same thing as saying they should be promoted. 
 

I would imagine said legal action will be against Southampton. As boro have been training for hull, and hull, until about an hour ago, didn’t know who they were playing for sure. 
 

id be very suprised if they think they should be promoted now. It’s standard procedure in ko formats of a club is thrown out they are replaced with who they beat.

 

There’s even an example from non league this season where both quarter finalists were thrown out, even then they were replaced by a losing team from round 3 instead of the other semi finalists automatically progressing.

EFL need to bring in a new rule. Any club hiring a lawyer to try and gain a sporting advantage get a 30 point deduction. Applicable immediately. Absolute wrong'uns.

Even if you believe Eckert's ridiculous defence that it happens all the time on the continent and he didn't know any better, then surely someone involved should have said "hang on a minute mate, that's not allowed in England". 

 

They can't only blame the manager on this one. What sort of idiots at the club went along with it?

Ditto. We bought Adam Armstrong off them and he's one of the worst ineffectual players I've ever seen, and has the build of a midget to boot.

I'm telling you...... Jannik his dog told Tonda Eckert and his coaching staff, what our tactics were at half time, in the 4-3 defeat at the King Power! I just find it suspicious that they go on a 21 unbeaten game run, when they were alleged to have 'cheated'.
