Knowing our board we've probably signed a 5 year contract with this company and they've paid up front for the sponsorship which we'd then have to give back if we cancelled the sponsorship, which it sounds like we will, meaning not only have we cashed in our future (non existent) tv money, we'll also have an even bigger black hole in our psr accounts. 

 

Of course I'm just speculating and have no idea how the sponsorship deal works and the length/finances etc but given how incompetent our board are, nothing would surprise me.
