How do you expect him to score goals when there is nothing coming through from midfield and he’s the only forward against 4 defenders.

Exactly this. He would be getting his share if he had decent players around him feeding him - played like that he’d be way better than anything we could have bought in the summer. If Fatawu hadn’t got injured vardys contributions would have been a lot higher.

is he past his best? Yes

is it probably his last season at the top? Yes

is he the LCFC goat? YES

Still one of our best players, and is a club legend. So give the lad a break.

Place your blame elsewhere, it doesn’t belong here.

Can we not make a witch hunt out of our greatest player ever whilst feelings are running high?

Vardy (though isn’t the solution) also isn’t the problem.

He is a problem in the context of this current team.

It was done at least 2 seasons ago. Occasional moments are still there but our failure to replace him successfully is part of our demise.

And the reason we haven't replaced him is because we have kept handing him massive contracts based on sentiment and aren't in a position to bring a top quality young striker in whilst sitting 100k per week on the bench.

If you’ve ever played football upfront on your own against 4-5 defenders with little to no support or service you’d know it’s an impossible job.

He'll be starting every week in the Championship come August!

At least there’s one thing to look forward to in the championship. Vardy to drag a load of youngsters plus dross we couldn’t shift and under embargo to a play off place? Trip to Wembley? I don’t mind a bit of that to be honest. Definitely better than what we’ve had to sit through for 2 of the last 3 seasons

Been a problem for 4 years. Fans is fair enough but people running the club being so dense that they can't separate emotion from logic is poor.

Got 15 goals in the league 4 years ago, another 15 the year after (in 25 games), yeah he was the problem alright

He's not to blame but the fact we gave him a new contract is a sign of how bad the decision making at this club has been. Putting sentimentality over the needs of the club

If we'd spent 5m and got the Vardy of last season, which is what his wages cost based on that, we wouldn't have moaned.

Compared with the amounts we spent on Mavididi, Winks, Coady, even Ayew - fees and wages tallied - I don't think he's given us bad value for money over the past two years.

For me, he's the least of our problems. He's an ageing legend who still has things to offer, but on whom we depend more than we should. You could have skipped some of the previously mentioned signings and found that alternative up front. How has the money we've splashed out on one of our better players over the past couple of seasons been the problem, either financially or in terms of performance?

He's had his moments this year that prove he's still good enough.

There are 2 major problems though...

He's had absolutely no service and the club haven't bought a replacement.

The issues certainly aren't his fault.

He's one player I won't aim much criticism at.

Being player in a system that does him no favours. The service is crap to him. The support on and off the ball is bollocks. Him coming deep to knock it off to a centre mid only fvcking works if you have another midfield runner going into the space he's vacated. But we're so passive we just end up passing it around our defenders and midfielders who show no conviction at all when it comes to going forward.

Father Time waits for no man.

He can’t continue to be rolled out and we expect him to score goals.

He can’t press.

He’s only just slight quicker than bloody Vestergaard these days (maybe an exaggeration).

He’s not generating his own chances now.

He’s done and is causing us problems, like every other player.

At this point, I don’t want to see him starting games for us.

Disagree if anything he's the only one pressing the trouble is he can't do it on his own when there is no support no one else pressing it dosent matter how mu h you press they are just going to play around you

There was a cross towards the end of the game where a half sharp Vardy gets across his man and at least gives himself a chance. Instead he was on his heels and let the defender just head it away. I get what people are saying about the service but he's just not sharp enough anymore

He absolutely is a massive part of the problem. Performance in the first half was a disgrace. Walking around pointing at people. The one time he actually chased the ball, he won it and gave us a chance.

The team is absolutely awful and doesn't give him much of a chance but his application/intensity is not up to scratch. It creates a huge problem for the team. Also sign see him as the leader you need in times like this

For this season he's the best hope we have of scoring a goal, let's not start knocking Vardy, you can't blame him that club he failed to find anyone anywhere close to his standard and he got a load of shite behind him this season.

No blame on Vardy for signing the contract. The blame is all on the club for offering it to him. Makes us seem like a tin pot club offering contracts for sentimental reasons. Look how Liverpool are dealing with Salah and Van Dijk- they're thinking long term and acting in the best interests of the club
