Ruud received no backing and was lied to by the board. What is a new manager with no window and no backing going to do at this point? stop chopping and changing managers constantly :D

He is a terrible manager and has overseen a football league record of 6 consecutive home games without a goal. Of course this manager needs to be changed. I'm all for giving a manager time if they actually show anything but he has shown nothing aside from two wins (one of which was against a West Ham team who somehow missed their chances and one was against Spurs' B team).

The art of coaching players seems to have gone? People just want new players straight away. This same group of players weren't in the relegation zone under the previous manager.

Maybe it isn’t Ruud. Just the EPL has got so strong. McKenna has done wonders at Ipswich and are they are still well managed. Look where they are. No accident the 3 that came up occupy the bottom three.

REALLY REALLY glad you mentioned this pal...

Can you remember why the previous manager isn't here anymore? I'll help you out. The players. The ones that I'm saying are the issue. Deary me.

If you haven't already you're in denial.

I'd much rather the club smell the coffee right now and start preparing for next season than live in airy fairy land and keep throwing good money after bad.

And I think that's the point, why go to the expense of making a change plus another manager drinking from the poisoned challis and probably getting sacked at the end of the season?

We hammered QPR in The FA Cup, which is a good omen for life in The Championship.

This really isn’t good logic……

When you have a net spend of £80m £50 taking into consideration the sale of KDH, on the shit we have with the exception of perhaps one player. It really flaws the argument of the PL being so strong.

This is comfortably the worst premier league there has been for years in my opinion. Liverpool are unchallenged, Forest are knocking on the door of Europe, and if it wasn’t for the worst bottom three on PL history Manure would be in a relegation fight……

Football in general is on its arse, in my opinion, in this moment, it’s probably the most average crop of players at the highest level, we’ve seen in modern football.

Are people still not getting it?

Ruud is like a single brick in a crumbling wall

He's not the cause of the collapse, he's merely a part of the whole structure that's failing

He's just waiting for a day when a new thread isn't posted on foxestalk.

The Forest v. Ipswich game last night saw both teams playing with fire in their bellies and both making every effort to win. Leicester City players - take note! If you're going down, go down fighting, instead of just thinking about that obscenely high paypacket you receive each month. The defeatist attitude of resignation to inevitable defeat every week can, at best, be a self-fulfilling prophecy, and at worst, be deemed by more cynical observers as almost tantamount to match-fixing.

But he's not helping the situation. Dodgy subs, poor decisions and not changing it tactically.

I completely agree, he's not the main cause, however he is definitely not without blame.

The window's closed so the loan player is a moot point. Players are scumbags, I'd imagine he's tried to encourage them (see previous posts about this crop). He's tried different players at the back, and in attack, all rubbish.

So really the only valid point you've made which is one I've also agreed in the past with, is changing formation/style. Go five at the back and start from there by just playing the most disgusting defensive game ever. We won't score but we're not scoring anyway. Wouldn't be sacking him when you break down that's the only valid criticism.

He's tried different players, but keeps playing Feas, but he hasn't changed the system 2 up top 5 at the back. That's not a good manager just try something different

Yeh no more threads please lol. There is no new news coming out of our club. Be nice if there were some leaks from any whistle blowers. The janitor, kit man, physio, receptionist anyone who is privy to discussions on the field or in and around Seagrave.what is going on in the background?

Take your pic

  1. The club think he's the right appointment
  2. The club can't afford to sack him
  3. They're waiting for relegation to be confirmed because there's a clause to make sacking him cheaper
  4. They're waiting for the next accounting period to sack him
  5. Top/Rudkin are too proud to sack him
  6. They think we're going down no matter what, so what's the point in sacking him and appointing interims?

I'm baffled so many people defend him.

Both managers this season have not been good enough.

Of course the players aren't good enough either but both managers are not going to suddenly become better managers just because they have better players. Deary me.

It seems unlikely that even prime Mourinho could keep us up now, but I still think RVN should be sacked.  The negativity around him means that no one will want him in the championship - not the fans, players, board or Ruud himself - so what's the point in keeping him?  It would be better to get someone who actually seems to give a shit, so we could at least hang on to a shred of hope for next season.  I can see us potentially losing every single one of our remaining 11 games, and I can't imagine how horrible the atmosphere will be in the last home game.
