Three times this season we've played against the reputation rather than the team in front of us. This shouldn't be treated like a game against one of the biggest, richest clubs in the world. It should be treated like a game against Palace or West Ham.

He's just one part of a much bigger problem to be honest.

 

However, as for RVN, how come he's failing so badly when a team like Forest are performing so well? They've admittedly got a smattering of very decent players but hardly expensive world beaters are they?

 

Not really difficult to see why really though. They've got a manager that organises well and plays a system to suit the strengths of his players in their best positions, no square pegs in round holes. 

Neither is he slavishly trying to play exactly the same brand of possession football that everyone else is trying to copy (without having the right players to do it) or mimic the Manchester City's and Chelsea's of this world. Instead Forest let such teams have the lion's share of possession then hit them on the break which includes two quick wingers poised and waiting to run at them. There used to be another team that wasn't interested in possession for possessions sake and who hit expensive teams on the break. So long ago now I'm struggling to remember who it was 🤔.

 

However, even if we wanted to mimic our old style somewhat, RVN keeps playing 3 Chelsea Pensioners up top so breaking quickly is not really an option. I think the best we could do without Fatawu is to play 3 centre halves with Coulibally and Mavididi as wingbacks. Recruitment is clearly also to blame for several years now and this summer with Cooper was absolutely dreadful. 

 

Can't say I'm looking forward to going today, far too much of a hassle tbh.

Even so, whatever keeper they have in they'll have a quiet day. 

 

And even if we did manage to have a few shots, he'll have a worldie of a game.

Hopefully he sticks with a back 3 so it isn't a cricket score. 

 

We won't score though. Pointless playing Vardy if the plan is to hit on the break. 

Daka should be perfect but in the one game defining chance he gets he perennialy fails to step up and trips over the ball. 

Facundo and bilal either side of daka maybe. 

Ayew vardy bdr too slow 

 

RVN no doubt will play a back 3 with the worlds slowest front 3 to sabaotage any attempt we may have at attacking. Utd sleeper agent.

I haven't been this excited for a game since Plymouth at home, 2006,under Rob Kelly. 

 

Penultimate game of the season.  Saw us cement 15th place in the championship.

Meh - yup. Just me and the boy on a sunday evening though. Even if the football is sh1te we manage to have a good time. one day he will be grown up and wont give a sh1t.
