RedSoxUK Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 I've just interviewed for the job and did a presentation on my latest control possession, low tempo, play out from the back FM24 save. Evidenced that I've won manager of the season multiple times and did a comparison ranking me among the best in Europe. Top bought it. Expecting to be announced shortly.

(I didn’t watch England under him) He’s a possession focused manager but with an emphasis on creativity and attacking. or at least he is with the under 21s. I found that whilst he is focusing on possession he isn’t one to stop his players taking risks which is about the best balance you can hope for. Seems to have players focus on particular roles rather than rigid formation and that fluidity worked really well for the under 21s. I think the blueprint is perfect for a championship team who would be expected to dominate possession. It’s hard to say how he would fair in a relegation fight but one to worry about when you get there. he’s very highly rated by the football community, same sort of reputation as someone like McKenna before he went to Ipswich. Id be more excited for this than I was about Maresca so a high expectation from me. In fact, I think he is very much groomed for the next England manager, 4 or 5 good seasons with us then he replaces Tuchel… who says no. Edited 22 April 2025 by Lambert09 1

ronnup Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 Limited funds. Good youth options. Perhaps Carsley is a good shout, risky maybe.
Foxin_Mad Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 Just to point out quite a few people on here previously wanted Cooper and Ruud, soooooooooooo
Aleksz Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 (edited) Carsley has a lot going for him in terms of being a good fit to what we need. - Believes in attractive football - but isn’t slow and robotic like Enzo (boring our fans) - Has a mega emphasis on giving youth an opportunity (hard to say if he’d do this in a club role as this would be his first, but I believe he would) which is exactly needed to start again. - Seemed like the senior England lads loved him during that short spell, and the U21s that have worked under him worship the ground he walks on, gets players on side - Great knowledge of young players in this country to raid the loan market next season Sure, he was a bit bland in the press, but are we really arsed about that? I get why it’s more important for the England job where you’re playing diplomatic politician all the time. Really impressed me during his England spell. Sure the Greece game set up was an error, but was purely and experimental line up that every England fan wanted to see anyway. Edited 22 April 2025 by Aleksz 1
winteriscoming Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 Cesc Fabregas currently has less than a season in charge as a manager but was a brilliant player. He reminds me of somebody…… Him and Carsley are exactly what we don’t need. Imo we need someone with decent experience as a manager. 2

Sure the Greece game set up was an error, but was purely and experimental line up that every England fan wanted to see anyway. He was the England interim manager for five minutes and before that he did international youth football. He has very little to end real experience with a club. Enzo was an inexperienced big risk but at least he'd been involved coaching in club football for about seven years prior including working in two stints at Man City who, like or loathe them, are superbly well run from a football point of view. Carsley has nowhere near even Enzo's CV and Enzo, again, was a huge risk. Carsley would need significant hand holding from a competent director of football that could just let him coach and even then what does he know about managing a squad through a league season? In any normal world, Carsley wouldn't be anywhere near the conversation getting any managers job in the Championship let alone one at a club expecting to win it. It's only because the English football world has this weird, fanatical relationship with the national team. If he'd followed any other England manager there wouldn't be the buzz, it's just Southgate plays such dour anti football that people think Carsley is master entertainer because he couldn't possibly have done worse. Insane rumour. 3

Not saying Carsley is not the answer but coaching young England players is nothing like the day to day club job where results are needed quickly and regularly. Not saying he is like Southgate but he did OK with England but wouldn't want him as a club manager. 1

Free Falling Foxes Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 We've known about the shambles at King Power for years, now the national media are beginning to pick up on it. Who in their right minds would wish to become our next nanager? We're a complete basket case of a club, right across the board. 1
les-tah Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 (edited) The more i read about that Danny Rohls style the more i think he might be suited to us and premier league style should we get promoted. but im fully expecting Russel Martin to sweet talk top and rudkin and sell them on total boring football again. Ric Flair Posted 22 April 2025 Posted 22 April 2025 Ideally the new manager has a track record of bringing through academy players and improving players. But more importantly the mandate is that that is their number one priority. We've already seen such coaches with experience of working with young players and then they've got here and been cowardly with it. The club needs to reorder its priorities. Top and Rudkin need to instill this requirement ASAP as let's face it they aren't leaving before any new manager gets here. 1

It’s not an attractive job at all with everything going on. PSR problems, fans disconnected, potential point deductions, board hated ….
