i want someone who wants to bring in 5 or 6 different players and knows who they are. Not someone who thinks the squad is OK.

Ward, Vestergaard, Faes, Kristiansen, Iversen, Choudhury, Soumare, Daka, Winks, Ndidi, Coady can all get in the sea. Don't care what money comes in, there's hardly any un amortized value left in any of them anyway - and they are proven to have shit the bed on way too many occasions.

Stolarzcyk, Justin, Ricardo, Nelson, Okoli, Thomas, Mavididi, Fatawu, El Khannous, McAteer, Skipp, Alves, Cartwright, Monga, Evans have to form the remainder of our squad with 5 or 6 added to provide a more experienced backbone

Mitrovic is on the way out of Saudi. I'd get him in and promise him it'll be raining crosses from Mavididi and Fatawu so he can get 40 goals like he did at Fulham.

Cullen and Brownhill have taken Burnley up but aren't prem players so i'd offer them something.

Josh Sargent is a livewire who should jump at the chance to join Leicester

Jonathan Rowe looked great but has stalled at Marseille. I'd get him back to the champo.

It is very little to do with how much we might get in by way of transfer fees.

If they are still under contract (which means all bar Ward and Iverson) then unless another club matches their wage demands then they are staying with us.  Contracts work both ways I am afraid.

This is the reality of Rudkin’s incompetence and won’t unwind until all those contracts expire with is another 3 or 4 years in some cases.

How anyone can have seen this trio at other clubs and want this at their own beyond me, just prolonging the misery

The odd thing about Dyche is that Moyes has ruined the myth a bit. 6 months ago he was praised for being the only guy capable of keeping that Everton team afloat on this league and what a manager he is.....And then you see what Moyes has done with them and realise he was actually UNDER achieving. Makes you think Burnley should have been top 6 :D

Hear me out. Jose Mourinho has been mentioned and “talked about and to”, nothing more or less, gauging mutual interest. Current thinking is 3 ways. See how RVN feels, most likely. New coach to develop youth and team for a couple of years and see how current stock of younger players perform, least likely. Pay top wage for bounce back and reestablish, hence JM.

Rudkin under severe pressure, may not see out summer. Whelan is pointing fingers everywhere but self, lots of poor decisions over the years including the ladies trip to Australia that cost over £1m and returned £0.

great restart may actually happen.

Sounds interesting, but would JM be the right man to blood and develop the younger players.

"I massively like him" - Southampton FC view given as Leicester City eye Russell Martin

Chris Gallagher

This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...

Leicester City have been told they will be ‘lucky’ to have Russell Martin after the former Southampton chief was linked with the Foxes.

Whilst Ruud van Nistelrooy remains in charge at the King Power Stadium, there are major doubts about his future after their relegation to the Championship was confirmed last weekend.

The Dutchman has failed to make a positive impact at Leicester after succeeding Steve Cooper, and it has been claimed that Russell Martin is among the candidates to replace van Nistelrooy.

Leicester City reaction to Russell Martin rumours has been mixed
The 39-year-old has been out of work since he was sacked by Southampton earlier this season, but it’s fair to say the reaction to his potential appointment was mixed among the Leicester fan base.

Martin has a clear style of play which focuses on keeping possession, but his refusal to adapt has been questioned by many over the past few years.

Yet, when asked by FLW if the scepticism towards the ex-Swansea boss is fair, FLW's Southampton fan pundit Martin Sanders was adamant that it would be a fantastic appointment by Leicester, who he tipped to win the league if it happened.

“I massively like him, and I think he will go on to become a good manager. I think he will have learnt from his time at Southampton, and I think whoever gets him will be very lucky.

“He is a great man-manager, he is young, and he was brilliant on MNF with Jamie Carragher and Dave Jones, he was outstanding.

“It would be a great appointment for Leicester, and the fact their fans are turning their nose up at him - well I wouldn’t be. I think if he goes you could guarantee the title for them next season.

“I think he learnt a lot from that time at Southampton and will come back as a much better manager. In life, you go through difficult spells, where you leave a job, and you reflect on what went on and think ‘I won’t do that again’, and I think football is the same. You come out of it, you reflect, like Martin said he did, and he will be a better manager for it.

“He spoke about how he felt ill after he was sacked at Southampton, and how he spent a lot of time thinking, studying their work, and what they could be better at. If Leicester got him, I think they’d be very, very lucky.”

Leicester City need to make some big calls ahead of Championship return
Martin is a divisive figure, and many wouldn’t share the optimism that he would bring the league title to the King Power Stadium next season.

Nevertheless, he has a clear way of playing that would be comparable to Enzo Maresca, and he has proven himself at this level, so there are obvious benefits to his appointment.

But, first things first, Leicester still have van Nistelrooy in charge, and the hierarchy need to make a decision on his future over the next few weeks.

If a change is made, it’s then about making a swift appointment, and whoever does take charge will have a big job on their hands.

Most expect the relegated clubs to bounce back straight away, but there is a real disconnect between the club and the fans right now that needs to be repaired, and the club could face further PSR issues.

So, it’s a big challenge for whoever is leading Leicester, and it will be intriguing to see how it all plays out.

I don’t have a single preferred manager to replace RVN and as before I don’t think there will be one name all fans agree on but, in terms of attributes they need to:

1. Be able to organise a defence.

2. Be a developmental coach that improves players.

3. Creates a team with an identity.

4. Promotes youth.

A manager with his own staff would be a start.

Didn't we lose 6 staff when Enzo left and replaced them with 2 who came with Cooper but then kept them on with RVN who has no staff... this is another reason we have been so awful.

If Russell Martin HAS learned from his Saints spell then he might be a decent appointment. But if he hasn't then you're getting shit, suicidal football with an ego far outweighing his achievements, whilst both being smug and accepting none of the responsibility when it goes tits.

And I'd err on the side of him NOT having learned, such is his opinion of himself.

Seeing this tweet makes me realise we haven’t had a really exciting, overjoy tweet from one of the stellar ITKs for so long. When was the last time? Bilal signing maybe.

Every time they’ve tweet about us (for what feels an age) has been negative news.

I agree. He inevitably becomes a short-term, one-year appointment, no matter what happens.

Either we fail to get promoted, and he gets sacked. Or we get promoted under him, and then he's the wrong man for the task of staying in the Prem. In which case, we'd need to sack him before the new season starts anyway.

If we kept him for the PL, the style of play would see us in Southampton's position. On for the record low-points, top of statistics like 'Errors Leading to Chances', 'Errors Leading to Goals'.

The possession game can work when you have better players than your opponent. But now every team presses as a team, it just doesn't work when you have lower-quality players.

I wouldn’t worrry about RM, he will 1000000% be at Norwich next season.

Rohl, Dyche or Fischer for me.

Just not Dyche. Look how Everton have done with the same players since sacking him. He's crap.
