Isn't the compensation halved for another Championship club? It was reported in the press to be the case.

It is yes, but I think the major hang up is the issues Rohl is having with Sheff W. I mean, they’re not even paying the players, so I can’t imagine their board is easy to deal with?

The positives are he was told the club is up for sale and that we don't think the points deduction will be significant so promotion is still the aim/expectation. (Deluded?)

Thanks for the insight @Ric Flair. It might coincidental but organisations in an acquisition process start to reduce headcount prior to sale to make them more attractive.

Additionally, it’s was reported in the July 1, 2025 eflanalysis.com article that Susan Whelan might step back from football-related duties and instead concentrate on the business side of operations. The same report mentioned that Rudkin could be “less active on a day-to‑day basis”. Most business acquisitions require all employees to transfer to the new employer under TUPE. To exclude them from the transfer, the current employer must reassign key personnel before the transfer to a different part of the seller’s business that is not transferring. It must be a genuine reassignment with real operational purpose. Sorry for the detail but this does start to feel like Top is trying to sell LCFC.

He was supposedly interviewed and offered the job several weeks before RvN was informed he was going and sacked. From the other things Martin's pal has said, it is not surprise Brussell had concerns about taking the job.

What else did martins pal have to say?

The positives are he was told the club is up for sale - not sure I believe this though the media would definitely know about this if it was true very hard/impossible to keep secret

One thing that appears to get ignored a lot is the finances behind appointments. Just because you are paying compensation doesn’t mean he’s more expensive. Within football, incomings are often viewed from a total package… initial cost, and wages across the entirety of the deal.

Let’s give an example:

Dyche will probably want around £40,000 - 50,000 a week. On a Three year contract that’ll cost the club £6,240,000 - £7,800,000 in a total package.

Rohl will likely want around £20,000 - £25,000 a week. On a three year contract that’ll cost the club £3,120,000 - £3,900,000. You then have to include compensation cost, if we going on the higher end of £2.5m, that’ll bring the total cost across 3 years to £5,600,000 - £6,400,000.

Breaking that down to yearly cost for PSR purposes, going on the higher scale of wages and compo for Rohl he would cost £2,133,000 per year.

If we compare that to the lower wage scale of £40,000 for Dyche, which would be a significant wage cut from him, that would cost the club £2,080,000 per year.

That makes a difference of £53,000 per year. The reality is, the talk of free agents being cheaper is a myth in football. Ultimately, the man who’s appointed will be the man the board thinks is best unless they appoint Kingy.

on the flip side

tbf tho, one is likely to get poached by other teams

and another one has never been poached by another team even when hes been doing well

so one could bring in money when they go,

the other probably wont

This is a club that gives contract extensions to rubbish like Ward, Hamza and Vesty.
I wouldn’t be so sure on what figures we’d give to Dyche and Rohl if anything these clowns would give a lot more than they are actually worth.
Let’s not forget Coady and Winks were on over 50k a week in the championship.
They really haven’t got a clue.

So what does that tell you…. If we go with Dyche that’s because of who they want, not because “he’s the cheaper option”.

Dyche was reported to be on around £80k a week at Everton. The salary I put in for him is a significant reduction. Also important to remember Rohl doesn’t have much room for negotiating if he wants an immediate job.

also tells you theyve ran out of ideas if they go for him too,

given the way the club has set up playing wise for a good number of years

Well, if we are genuinely and seriously up for sale, which will presumably mean dumping Rudkin, Whelan and co, then depending on where that is (and takeovers are a nightmare even for small businesses), i dont see anything happening apart from a panic appointment. If they are providing this info to prospects in the interview process, i bet many wouldn't want anything to do with us right now.

Kids looked great today. Play them.

Sorry mate not questioning you. I’m just saying what I think these clowns are capable of. I agree with what you’re saying but can guarantee these idiots will give out ridiculous contracts.

Don’t worry I didn’t think you was, and it would be fine if you was hahaha. Agree completely.

Alan Nixon has a story about us tomorrow will be interesting if it is manager related.

I think he's only called the Ayew transfer correctly in recent years, don't think he's got anything else right about us having posted numerous times about the club.

Didn’t he have one last week too?

Wouldn’t be shocked to see us deliberately leek a name to try to focus a few minds in Sheffield. If we want Rohl and it comes out we are about to appoint someone else Chansiri might drop his demands, if that is the hold up.
