Hope he reads the thread, he changed the trajectory of the club. A real legend.
Back to reality, with being a champ team and Yoyo club.

With players that don’t have any longterm affiliation apart from a wage.

I find the moment of the announcement rather peculiar. Why not wait until the season is over?

I mean – can we expect the team to play as one for the remaining five PL matches now, in honour of Vardy? Or will the slump, the indifference continue?

Would have been a travesty for the final 2 homes games to go by without proper recognition of him...

So sorry to see him go, like others I was hoping he would be retained with some sort of coaching role, in fact anything but club diplomat lol

Thanks for the Journey JV9 :appl:

Sad sad day, the GOAT. Get him a statue, either lifting the premier league trophy or the celebration pointing to himself as he broke the record.

This day had to come and it’s really sad that it comes on the back of relegation.

He will always be a Fox and his legacy on this club won’t be forgotten.

Just listening to Peter Schmeichal and he said how sad he is to see what has happened at Leicester and how some people need to take a long hard look at themselves (hinted at the board)

Words cannot describe what he means to us. Vividly remember being at Peterborough away when he came on as a substitute and the shout of "just ****ing admit you got it wrong Pearson, he's a non league player" next to me.

We'll never see the like of him ever again. Any club of our size could never dream of having a Jamie Vardy. He is and always will be our best ever player.

I thought that what had happened recently actually made the inevitable news of his departure a bit easier, but I'm actually in bits. With everything else that's going on at the club at the moment I just feel like it's really hitting home that the Leicester we had is gone.

Given where he came from, he's a once in lifetime, the best player I ever saw at Leicester, absolute Legend if anyone deserved to win a title Vardy was that player and a true example to any young player that if you determined enough you can be a success even when people knock you down.

Wow, the state of me. I’ll be absolutely gutted if he plays for another English club now though.

Let’s hope it’s Wrexham then ;)

Vardy will chin him on his way out of the KP on the final game of the season anyway

Echoing almost all posts so far, but words on a forum struggle to do justice to his contribution to the club and I suspect to many of us personally. A proper Roy of the Rovers character in the modern game - he came from nothing and gave us everything and more than we could ever imagine.

I feel embarrassed to say I thought he should leave after his first season, but delighted to be proven wrong - and how wrong. I have a signed shirt at home on the wall, and my daughters middle name is ‘Jamie’, and by fluke my daughter and his daughter have the same name.

A legend to the club and to many of us personally, but I think it is the right time to say goodbye. But hopefully he’ll be back in some capacity, even if it’s the occasional media duty or up in the hospitality lounges.

I wish him luck at whatever he does next, but I hope it’s abroad as I don’t think I could face seeing him playing us.
