Ricardo was bad. I would add Rab Douglas but he was probably the best we could get at the time.

But for sheer cost and wages Danny Ward wins the award. We could have got a much better keeper for £12m and his horrendous wages

I think we should have some honourable mentions...

Best - Marton Fulop, Tim flowers, Ian Walker.

Worst - Kevin Pressman, Rab Douglas, Ian Walker.

Was Ian Walker not just prone to really bad mistakes, but other than that pretty good for us?

Shilton, Banks, Kasper the best, though the first two did come for crosses anywhere in the box. Spider Kalach ( apologies for spelling if wrong) the worst, the only keeper I’ve ever seen go towards the penalty spot to gather a corner floating in under his bar! Scared me to death.

Best I've seen, Kasper, Keller and Flowers.

Poole and Gavin Ward were pretty decent and likeable, especially Ward who had a great connection with the supporters.

Seen some dross over the years but Danny Ward tops the lot and the one or two games I saw Kalac play too. For some reason, I remember Ian Walker being pretty gash for us.

In my time, Schmeichel comfortably. Near faultless in a title winning season, brilliant in Europe and in a cup final. Shouldn't just be about longevity but how they are in big moments.

Flowers and Keller were good. Hermansen has done pretty well and Walker's first two seasons were decent before a decline.

As for the worst- Ward, Douglas, Pressman and Ricardo.

Conrad Logan. loyal club servant. Probably not a very good goalkeeper.

Was it Burton Albion in the cup where he jumped to catch a routine long ball and it just went between his hands and in?

Ward is hands down the worse with context into account. We’ve had some shite but they were what they said on the tin. Paying as much as we did for Ward and the wages, along with what he cost us on the pitch is unforgivable.

I feel like any of the other keepers mentioned, in my time, is at least expect them to make some saves. Ward I genuinely have a starting expectation that 100% of efforts on goal will go in. Anything saved is a bonus.

Shilton , Banks, Wallington, Flowers and Kasper.

Ward and Pressman, I’m sure there are other worst ones.

First position I played as a kid was in goal. Gavin Ward, Peggy, Flowers and Kasey 'USA' Keller were all big heroes of mine.

But it just absolutely has to be Kasper in my lifetime. I've seen "that" Banks save a thousand times and, I'm sorry, I still think Schmeichel's in the FA Cup Final was better. He'd literally just stepped in the opposite direction, the shot was properly fizzed, the reaction, the reach and the strength to stop it one handed full stretch? ****ing bonkers.

I agree just wanted to give a bit of love to Flowers. And I think he commanded his box better than Kasper

I think Danny Ward commanded his box better than Kasper tbf lol

He just made up for it by being a generational talent when it came to shot stopping.

I remember us getting promotion, looking forward to the season ahead with confidence, with the ever reliable and often outstanding Wallington in goal when, I believe due to a contract dispute or negotiation he was left out in favour of new signing Mark Grew, basically Danny Ward with a perm. It was painful as despite having  Lineker, Smith and Lynex  at one end we had coco the clown gifting soft goals at the other. Also lost Larry May at CB and bringing in Bob Hazell after a few games with MacDonald filling in at CB. Once Wally got back in things improved and we stayed up. Basically a false start that as a ten year old I couldn’t understand.

Fast forward a few decades and the club believe they can do without Kasper as they have Ward on the books :frusty:.

Banks was my childhood hero. Shilton was too as I went into teens and early adult. Wallington was very good too. Unfortunately Gordon had an off day in 1963 cup final though he was brilliant in the semi final. Honourable mentions to Keller, Flowers and Poole. Kasper of course is the man that combined long service with the major honours we all craved or thought simply impossible to win.

Wasn’t born when Banks or Shilton played for us (though the latter was definitely still playing somewhere)

Kasper was here for a decade and won a Premier League title, an FA Cup (with some extremely pivotal saves) and a Community Shield. Played almost 500 matches and even scored a goal. Can only be him in my 30 years as a fox.

Ward is beyond the worst. Just horrible.

Us oldies remember Shilts scored in a 5-1 win at the Dell in 1967 though unless you were there you missed it as no cameras. I for one didn't see it

The interesting thing here is whether we are grading them purely on ability, or what they have done for the club.

similarly with vardy being hailed our best ever player. I think he is and back that, but mainly due to his service and what he has done for us alongside his ability. If we were purely going on ability then several other players would be in the mix.

I’m going on the whole package and voting kasper. We have been a bit spoilt for keepers though for a club of our size.

Ward easily the worst ever.

Shame Shilton went on to become a Forest and Derby legend, and he’s a bit of a weird guy.

Kasper is our greatest ever. The dude personified our club during his time here. I miss him quite a bit TBH.

MON subbing Spider Kalac on for the shoot out is iconic.

Honourable mentions to Kevin Poole and Kasey Keller who did well for us in a special 90s era.

And Rab Douglas once played for us.

Think one of the best was the Canadian Lars Hirschfeld, played one game in 2005 away at Plymouth and kept a clean sheet, he was brilliant. lol

Danny Ward is the worst in living memory by a mile. Never seen a team become so fragile knowing theyve got him behind them with anyone else.

Kasper, Shilton and Banks have to be up there for best ever goal keeper
