I'm obviously in the minority but actually rate Faes other than his brain fart each game. I think every team in the championship would be happy to sign him. A rotation of Faes, Okoki, Nelson & Souttar is decent

You are - he’s a complete tanker who I hope we never see in the blue shirt again

He would be better next to Nelson.

Out of interest if you had to keep one would you keep Faes or Vestergaard?

Can we close this thread until an actual link?

It's pointless closing it, someone will just re-open it the second some twitter troll links him to one of the big three: Barcelona, Real Madrid or Accrington Stanley.

I will keep on top of updating the signposting on the thread, though, so you can just ignore it unless something happens.

Vesty

All about opinions! I would rather keep Faes simply because at Championship level it would mean we could hold a higher line and dominate the ball higher up the pitch

As much as I can't stand Faes, I wouldn't be averse to playing him as a DM with Nelson/Okoli/Souttar as our CB options. As a last line of defence he's an absolute bombscare but he does look pretty decent when bringing the ball out of defence.

He´ll want to play for Belgium at the World Cup next year. So stick him on the bench and force him to leave or buy himself out of his contract

The new manager should buy him the Ladybird book of how to defend and give that man a haircut, looks like the leader of the Hair Bear Bunch.

He absolutely should not be featuring.

Nelson and Okoli CB’s. Vesty back up.

Faes DM? Absolutely not. Especially in a possession based system.

I didn't care for his attitude last season, but he was the best defender in the Championship the year before...

It's really hard to know what to do with him.

(Yeah, yeah, put him in the bin, ha ha)

Jacob Greaves was the best centre back in the centre back in 23/24!

He's not Prem standard and he won't be on a cheap wage. If somebody wants to give us money for him then he can go. He won't suddenly improve if we do go up.

Him Coady and Vestegaard are all centre backs who are all at their best when we have the ball. Any decently athletic striker can expose Faes. He is neither big, strong or fast and he doesn't read the game well enough to cover for that.

Behave. He's far from our main problem. Not the greatest for sure, but clearly our best CB. He ends up being first choice for all our managers, and if he's still around I bet he'll start for Marti. Explain that!

To hell with your "stats" and "objective facts", I'm working on vibes only here

It’s a real shame that Souttar is still out for a while, if not we could have had him, Nelson and Okoli as our main three and this clown wouldn’t even need to be considered. I’d bin off Vestergaard too if we could and bring one more in.
