JimJams Posted 1 June 2025 Posted 1 June 2025 I think this is good. Brentford are the kind of suitor that Mads might push for but wouldn't be paying us a fee in the region we really want. Now it's just Bournemouth needing a Kepa replacement and the big boys. Or we get stuck with a keeper we were all wanking about before he got injured.

It will be a huge problem if we can’t get what we expect for him as the knock on effect will be selling players we actually need to keep for example someone like Nelson 2
brookfox Posted 2 June 2025 Posted 2 June 2025 Looks like Brentford are getting Kelleher for £18m which looks a decent deal tbf. 1

Although there’s something about buying Liverpools reserve keeper for £12m up front that makes me oddly uneasy…! 4
LVFox Posted 2 June 2025 Posted 2 June 2025 If he goes anywhere i can only see it being West Ham, Wolves or Bournemouth. Otherwise I think he stays
LCFCCKEANO Posted 2 June 2025 Posted 2 June 2025 Chatter seems to have all but disappeared for him and BEK, after that article that said we may not need a firesale. Would be nice to finally have some good news, maybe we can just sell the deadwood to finance our summer

lcfc_forever Posted 3 June 2025 Posted 3 June 2025 Chelsea in for Mike Maignan as well - so if that deal happens, looking like Man Utd who've scouted him could be frontrunners.
JimJams Posted 3 June 2025 Posted 3 June 2025 And they've just spunked on Cunha and will on Mbuemo, and none of the players they want to sell want to go currently. He's staying innit.

JimmyC74 Posted 3 June 2025 Posted 3 June 2025 If Chelsea pass on Mads what other realistic prospect of raising a sizeable fee is there? Obviously we don’t want to give him away but doesn’t our summer spending depend on selling Mads for a premium.

Feels like there is a decreasing pool of options, increasing the prospect of a low ball offer. I worry that with the being all over the shop we may need to sell other assets like Nelson who ideally we keep and build around. Edited 3 June 2025 by JimmyC74

Yesmah my worry is we end up selling Nelson for £15m and take less for El Khannouss / Hermansen to make up the shortfall.

JimJams Posted 3 June 2025 Posted 3 June 2025 Mads to Man Utd makes sense on the face of it but I just don't see him being an Amorim target tbh.
Muzzy_no7 Posted 3 June 2025 Posted 3 June 2025 If Villa lose Martinez he could be an option for them. Bournemouth and West Ham realistic options too. 1
JimJams Posted 3 June 2025 Posted 3 June 2025 Bournemouth maybe cos Kepa is off. Why West Ham though? Areola is their number 1.

Guest Posted 3 June 2025 Posted 3 June 2025 Yeah Areola is not very good, camera save merchant. They are supposedly interested in Ramsdale who in my totally unbiased opinion is a worse goalkeeper than Hermansen and I presume would cost at least as much, likely more.
