Scott Carson is leaving Man City. If we sell Mads we’d probably get Carson in, in case Stolarcyk had a mid season wobble…

Quite a few decent ‘back up’ keepers available for free, which are better than Carson.

We should sell Mads for our PSR needs, hopefully ensuring we can keep others (BEK) and get in a decent freebee keeper

Not only would he be a decent back up I think his experience would be invaluable in helping Stolarzcyk settle in as a no. 1 . He could really benefit from having an old head around. Very possible Carson would make a good GK coach aswell and solve that problem too

What about (Polish) Lukas Fabianiski?

he played about 15 games for west Ham last season didn’t he?  For a prem team. He might not be ready to be a back up in the champ. If anything with Carson being a number 3  for man city he might see it as a step up coming to us as he’s got a bigger chance of getting the occasional game. Fabianski might not

Might not. Good shout. Fabianski is 40 tho, so he can’t be expecting lots of starts for anyone

Maybe as a 3rd choice / coach but Carson would not be a good idea for a 2nd choice keeper

He has started just 1 game in all competitions in 6 years - there is no way we could trust that he can actually be suitable if Jakub got injured

Carson any one who suggest this needs a head wobble.

suggesting it out of preference is one thing, realizing it’s the sort of deal our owners would do is another..

I don’t think we will shift Mads. He had a very poor second half of the season, which is what he will more than likely be remembered for.

Agreed,Mads is OK with his feet but the rest of his  game,he is behind Jakub Stolarczyk.Perhaps we should cash in on him?

Now Martin is out of the picture think it’s more likely Stolarczyk starts anyway, looking at the potential options think we can get away with the distribution, think it will also be less obvious in the championship, he will have a lot more time

Still think Maresca comes in for him. They've cooled their interest in Maignan now

only because they didn’t want to pay the 25m asking price… which is how much I’d imagine they’d have to pay to sign Mads

Hermansen is 5 years younger, perhaps they're actually looking at the ability to shift if need be for profit

Good one. No, but realistic goalies to be picked up on a free;

Yvon Mvogo

Martin Jedlicka

Matt Ryan

Lukas Fabianski

well worth selling Mads but only if we can pick up one of these guys too

Bournemouth need a keeper. Looks like Kepa will be going to sit on Arsenals bench rather than staying permanently

It wouldn’t shock me to see Jakub end up leaving (last year of his contract) and Mads stays.

Probably not ideal from a finance point of view if that happens.

Any potential move may depend on managerial appointments and player sales elsewhere.

Frank might come in for him if he goes to Spurs, Ederson and onana could leave the Manc clubs and there’s always the chance Enzo comes in for him. Lots could happen between now and the end of August.

It shouldn’t affect our plans anyway really. We need another keeper with Ward/Iversen going, that keeper will be third choice if Mads stays and 2nd if he doesn’t.
