People are falling into a trap again, of “steady park of hands” or a “manager who takes no shit”.

Dyche and Leicester aren’t a good fit, he doesn’t offer a brand of football that the board will want and I he would be harmful for the development of the academy.

We don’t need a battle axe, we need a forward thinking manager who knows exactly what they want…. Just like we had with Enzo, he wasn’t Dyche?

This is a sign of our desperation as a fan base…..

Who is the forward thinking manager to help us move forward?

Not saying Dyche is the answer but is a better option than some of the suggestions on FT.

yeah like he did with Burnley right

I'm pretty sure Dyche never took them down maybe I'm wrong but I don't think he did?

It’s bad, very bad…. But with a good appointment it need not be. Enzo proved last season what a decisive manager can do if given the chance. That’s the type of character we need, not Dyche.

It’s not really comparable with last time, the squad is weaker and there won’t be the same level of spending or income and PSR is reduced.

Well it is…. We will sell saleable assets and shift a few off the wage bill and we will be able to strengthen. And even then, we don’t need a huge amount to put together a decent team. The championship is pure dogshit, clever signings and a decent managerial appointment will see us right.

Yes it’s not as healthy as the last time we went down, but let’s not pretend we’re some small poor minnow, we’re not, we just need to make a good decision.

It isn't really a surprise if Dyche is linked to us is it?

He's currently out of work and has experience in both the Championship and the Premier League. Frankly I would consider it remiss of our board not to at least have him in mind and even to interview. Why do people complain he's bland and boring? Does it matter? We need a manger who can turn this sinking ship around. Personally I'm not especially keen on his style of football but would we have been such a mess this season if he had been the manager? I don't believe we would.

As to wanting a long term appointment that isn't going to happen. In reality a manager's job life must on average be about three seasons. personally I think we need a manger who can stand up to Top and tell him we can't play the Man city way with the players we have. Who that is I've no idea.

Still lives in the area too, doesn't he ?

What we don't want is another Pep light or other possession at all costs supposed modern minded philosopher tactician. We need a manager who can evaluate effectively the squad of players he's actually got and play them to their strengths on a suitable system. Arguably like our opposition manager today!

Not being comparable doesn’t mean minnows does it

“We will sell saleable assets and shift a few off the wage bill and we will be able to strengthen”

Like the goal keeper, that played 44 times 13 clean sheets or the midfielder that got 12 goals and 14 assists, and the striker that got 18 goals.

We spent a lot last time because £70m of pure profit was added to the accounts and PSR was £83m and it was touch and go if we failed it.

Next season it’s £61m and the squad needs more first team players than it did last season.

I’m not young btw.

I didn’t see McClintock but witnessed pleat, I was meaning more of a return to the more direct football of the 90s under O’Neill, little and to some extent Adam’s.

My opinion was formed from talking to people, the older people I have spoken to have said Dyche younger people have mentioned other names.

Sorry didn’t mean to cause offence. Though not being young I thought I was ok to make the comment.

Yes it is offensive. Age has fvck all to do with what you feel and believe in.

Very close to 60 but will party like a teen. Yes I do it and still go work. Physical job and work as hard if not harder than the kids.

Stop spewing this shit as an age thing.

Yes we've both both been on here for Years and never had a problem with you or what you say.

But please this ain't age.

Would be a horrific appointment. We’ve got a youth golden generation on our hands and we wanna appoint a manager that has posted up some of Everton, Burnley and Watfords highest average age XI’s. The clubs future hinges on getting the best out of the young players at this club just as much as it does getting promoted again.

Awful fit.

Without having read any of the rhetoric on Dyche on this forum then I suppose as  simplistic as it sounds then an 'everyman' would say look at how Everton were this season under Dyche and now look at them under Moyes in his second spell there! Definitely not the answer IMO, short or long term. I can see the obvious short term appeal to get things fixed but I too think he'd be a poor fit for us, much like Cooper was.....

8 points better off with 2 games 2 play to equal Dyches 19 games.

Baring in mind he was sacked after winning 1 from 11 it’s not a huge difference. Depends on the last 2 games Southampton and Newcastle

I still think they were going to finish 17th under Dyche this season had he stayed, albeit no lower thanks to how bad the three teams that came up have been with the inevitable/all now too predictable anchor attachment of an instant return to the second tier. Hopefully it will only be a two season long thing and at least one of the three promoted teams this season will buck the very recent wretched trend next season!

Dyche is the best candidate available to get us promoted and stay in the division simple as really, the youth promotion comment is fine but do Burnley really have an esteemed academy? Did really great with giving people like ings, trippier, tarkowski list goes on starts. He seems to have shown faith in players that are good enough.

I don’t mind the idea of gambling with a Rohl who’s shown to be impressive so far, but Dyche should be the number 1 candidate to rebuild the club
