If we sell someone like Nelson, someone that his loan club manager has tipped to play for England, someone that could grow into a very valuable player and asset, now, at the very start of his career when he is at his least valuable and just give away all of that potential... I shall be..... Well......I shall be quite cross!

Wouldn’t be because we want to but that won’t make you feel any less cross

Well, if the club make out that we need to sell him for some psr related nonsense when we have just set fire to several million paying a loan fee and extortionate wages for a non-playing striker and several more million for an unnecessary non-playing full back and I haven't even got to Oliver bloody Skipp yet, then I really will be, quite frankly, disappointed.

Keep the player and take the hit. We've already failed anyway haven't we?

think we sold Fofana at the right time. Been riddled with injuries since, got a premium price for him.

everyone wants to keep Nelson.  But if we get offered 30m+ he’s a gonner.  It’s getting to the stage where we need to do whatever it takes to be financially compliant. There’s a noose around our neck in that regard…

Doesn’t really matter with this lot in charge though. They are clearly incapable of getting things under control. We sold Barnes and KDH, as well as Maresca and Castagne and still failed. They will spend on new shit anyway so if we are going to fail PSR every season, I’d rather at least see Nelson and others play for us.

I know its Chelsea but I cant see them forking out £30m for a young lad who's had half a decent season in the Championship.... I'm sure they have similar quality in their u23s?

I can’t see anyone offering that. But if anyone did, we’d have to take it..

I think we definitely sold Fofana at the right time from a financial perspective.

What's most gruelling is he was injured in that friendly before that final season started. Think how much more solid at the back we'd have been with him there, and some of the money we'd have save from the useless replacements we signed to cover him while injured.

This is the model we need to go back to as quickly as possible to ensure we never have to worry about PSR again. Buy the young talent in - the uncut diamonds, and sell them for big profit.

We might not manage that many more Mahrez type signings, but there is no excuse why we can't go back to the old, sell one for big money and invest smartly again... well there is an excuse, two actually, one named Glover and the other called Rudkin, and how inept they are at their jobs.

doubt they see him as a first team regular, just another asset to sell to comply with PSR when the time comes.

If he wants to develop his career, then Chelsea is not the club for him. Just read about the 14 players Chelsea wish to get rid of and it includes Chilwell, which is not a surprise, but KDH, so it did not work out for him, plus Fontana

I think Fofana had over performed.  Hard to tell if he just can’t get back his best because of that injury or the former.

But had he not been injured, there’s always the chance he did a soyuncu where he performed poorly and we don’t get money for him. In that world imagine how screwed we’d have been for psr?

Nelson being sold would take the wind out of my sails for this year completely.

We probably have to for PSR sadly due to gross incompetence from Aiyawatt and Rudkin.

Why is this thread back off the back of wishful thinking by an Oxford fan......

It's a transfer rumour from one of their ITKs, the rumour never really died initially it was John Percy that reported it in May re Chelsea's interest, it could well still be on the cards.

If they are as good as our ITK I wouldn't worry!

No we don't.  We take the PSR hit and keep all our better youngsters.  That's the better long term strategy.
