You said why would any young player go there when they already have loads, the fact they have loads shows players aren't put off by it

its all for the money of course, its pretty clear, none of them go there for improvement....

I disagree, I think there’s genuine interest there and a few have long thought Nelson to be our next big sale.. We’ll sell too, how else are we going to extend contracts of underperforming arseholes???

there probably is, but if you was smart enough you wouldnt go there, because look at the amount of players who'd probably be ahead of him,

Point is, I don’t think this is agent talk like you initially said.. I’m not debating Chelsea’s squad depth..

Hope it's agent talk but is it really that surprising clubs of that stature are linked? All you hear about Ben is that he'll go right to the top and play for England.

It's great we're producing a conveyor belt (especially at the moment we've hit gold with this era coming through) but he's do well for us next year and was looking forward to seeing him!

why is anyone surprised?

ok, odd that a big 6 club want him but Chelsea are well known for stock piling talent with no real intention of having said talent play for them.

perhaps we can get a one legged Fofana back as part of the deal:brendan:

Not buying this. Wasn't like he was given loads of game time by Enzo and Chelsea have sufficient pull to either buy someone else, or wait a year.

Ironically, Enzo under-used him last season. He should have got far more appearances.

For that, I'll be shocked if anything comes of it, however, if it is, let's rinse them for 30m

Can’t see us capable of getting a decent fee for him. Only silver lining is he’s injury prone despite being a really good prospect.

2 nightmare scenarios

We'll get a big fee and waste it and tell the next manager no money in January

They'll give us back always crocked banned driver Fofana in exchange

Isn't this what Seagrave was built for?

Perhaps, but I would have liked him to have had more minutes for us.

What is he worth now? So hard to value… and no doubt we’d insist on future performance based clauses, but I think it will take a very big offer for us to sell relative to current value.

This site has him valued at €400k , which is clearly ridiculous, but what would people take?

Will serve us right for how we've handled his development.

He should have had more game time last season, but apart from that I don't fully see where he'd have played.

This season he shouldn't have went out on loan again

Depends really.

Was a coach going to put faith in a fairly untested 20 year old in what would be a huge risk? Likelihood the vast majority of managers aren't doing so.

Gaining actual game experience has likely been far better for him.

If the club sell him at this point I don’t know what to say. He’s under contract and his value will only increase, there is no need to sell this window.

If Chelsea offer anything remotely decent for him, they'll be driving him there

sadly probably true

we likely need the money

There is if you have to raise enough money to correct the piss poor recruitment of players, managers and coaching staff in the summer and during the season, and still people will defend Top and Rudkin to the hilt.

Can only hope its agent guff to get a new contract, if he does go can only hope for a cracking fee and a potential 2 year loan back to us.
