If it's Russell that tells me a few things

1. Bobkin is staying

2. The club haven't learnt anything at all

3. We are probably going to rely on youth, so not much money....again!!

4. We are still hung on Enzoball

5. They are even more shortsighted than I originally thought.

Doesn't sound good to me. All the things we need to move away from, of I'm honest.

If we were hung on Enzo ball, we wouldn’t have appointed tweedle dum (Cooper) and tweedle dee (RVN).

I just pop in every now and again. I used to be in here 10 or 12 times every day.

My only hope is that we’ve been linked with Dyche, Carsley and now Martin in recent weeks and that it’s nonsense.
Hopefully next week it’ll be someone else who I’d rather want.
I think the club are trying to get a gauge on fan reaction because they haven’t got a clue who to get in.

They should look local and get someone from the British Asian community, it would be good optics. I nominate the Belgrave FC youth coach, Saktha Bhorde.

Reading through this thread on the verge of being sick, then pushed over the edge by a notification on my phone asking me to give the gift of LCFC on Father's Day this year.

Mental gymnastics going on in my friends and family WhatsApp chat, trying to convince themselves it would be a better appointment than it seems on paper.

No, no, no. No!

I hope everyone at Bournemouth makes it abundantly clear that we don't want Brussel within 30 miles of our club (or whatever the total distance is to Coventry).

uggggghhhh :plancque:

They're going to turn back.

They always do this. Push some feelers (rumors) out, see how negative the fanbase are, then go from there. Happened last time we got relegated.

No, Support them - anybody that has renewed ST or bought merch, match day pints etc etc is lining their pockets.

I love LCFC as much as the next man, but I am so glad I didn't renew my ST for this season so i can do my bit to try and initiate change

tbf you can look at that another way, you are supporting the people who work in the ticket office etc?

how much the stupid idiots are losing per year we aint lining their pockets either.

I renewed, i always will, unless im dead in the ground, even then id want my STH renewed

The only positive I'm taking is that people were talking about Dyche like it was a done deal last week lol

Dyche and Martin on the shortlist would sum the club up. Two polar opposites in terms of tactics and style of play.

This was at 10 pages earlier when I last looked.

It's worrying that's it's now on 17

It's 17 pages of people saying they don't want him here and polite Southampton troll saying he isn't actually that bad.

Didn't happen with Cooper.

Cooper was too quick to properly gauge the fans’ reaction.

Was never meant to be his. Was meant to be Potter’s job. But he was stalling for a good week if I remember correctly.

Saints fan here.

its a difficult one to get excited about, aye?

I think there’s quite a few caveats, variables and nuances that need to be considered when appointing Russell Martin.

For me, he’s probably a one or two shifts away from being a very good manager. If you put the tactical inflexibility aside, there were times where he showed his nous by changing the formation for some of our games to suit the opposition (vs Leeds twice and vs West Brom twice. He genuinely showed he ‘could’ switch it up tactically and get results - that’s the bit I would hope he’s learned from; it’s not a crime to move away from your philosophy for a game or two.

What holds him back is just that - his overriding, pig headedness to change when his vanity project is falling apart. He takes things very personally when questioned and can be a bit spiky also.

that said, the players seemed to ‘buy into’ his philosophy and if they do, you’ll be ok.

Have my doubts about him being a nice guy though, much like the Swans fan above. The portrayal is different from the reality.

also - can’t see him liking Fatawu or Mavididi; way too front footed and direct for him.
