In fact, here he is on a podcast actually titled pundits don't understand football lol

In particular, fast forward to about 20/22 minutes if you're interested. Actually think you'd enjoy the whole thing @Stadt but that part is relevant.

Still think people like Horncastle are underpromoted. These people actually teach you things about football.

I've always enjoyed journalists being on the panel, right back to classic Revista de La Liga. I know Belague annoys everyone but Graham Hunter was an absolute font of knowledge.

I like to see a bit of a mix. The journos absolutely know the game, they're students of it, they've got a lot of knowledge but it is still good to have the perspective of insiders that have actually played in it and have relevant experience as well.

But I just want them chosen because they're bright, articulate and preferably younger with more recent experiences.

Stop picking people because they were more famous as players.

Have a YouTube browse.

Extremely well spoken and intelligent guy with a good understanding of football from both a human, emotional level and a tactical one.

Does get the odd TV appearance but never much consistent.

He gets the gig every now and then for the BT Goal Show and, as intelligent and well spoken as he is.... he has no personality.

He does once he's confident. He's certainly brought that side of him out more in the Libero podcast.

Not sure if it's an unpopular opinion or not but I think Matt Elliott is a very good pundit by local radio/club standards

Are the BBC just continuously posting Rooney's opinions as rage bait?

Why is there a new column quoting his views every day? He was a thick footballer, he was a thick manager, lo and behold he's a thick pundit.

Man makes Michael Owen look like a genius. Stop this, Beeb.

The Rooney show reminds me of the thick and naughty kid at school who is taken out of class for a special project by the teaching assistant (the co presenter).

Meanwhile, Nedum Onuoha can barely break out of the podcast scene.

He's class, good at telling stories, as well as talking about the game and he's not Joey Barton's biggest fan either, which is a bonus.

Onuoha is great on 5Live.

The Class of 92 might be the most uncharismatic men to ever walk the planet. Paul Scholes in particular. Don't care that you hit a bin in training you toe sucking freak

Don't you want to hear endless stories of why Alex Ferguson was a winner, though?

Bit weird when some of them still call him the Boss or whatever they say.

I understand why they do that but they are so limited in what they can talk about. Played under one man and those who then managed did around 50 games between them.

Not a huge fan of Deeney, for instance, but he has got a lot of coaches to reference from and their differences in approach.

Used to love the old football league show on quest because the presenter and guests really knew a lot about the lower league clubs and players. Now the most in depth analysis you get is a fat guy showing you MK Dons' creche or something at the end of the show.

Sunderland pretty much are better  than us in 10 EPL games that we were all of last season. Lol

Well done for them (so far) .

Signing the likes of Granit Xhaka, Nordi Mukiele and Simon Adingra is a bit different to signing Jordan Ayew, Bobby Decordova and Oliver Skipp

United have always been one of my most hated clubs and I've thoroughly enjoyed their demise over the years but I must admit it's nice to see their little resurgence.

My father in law passed away a couple of weeks ago and he was a huge United fan and season ticket holder. They haven't lost since and I can't help but feel he's a part of it lol
