Better not be true. Would make this day even worse. Apparently Page has rejected a contract.

Would be very surprised by this. Maybe the agent wanting more money or years.

He’s a Lutterworth lad and was absolutely brimming after the game having played his first game for the first team. He’s 16 years old, no 16 year old would have expected regular first team football.

So agent already trying to get more money after a couple of goals in training ground exercise lol

100000% same playbook over and over again

Guy Branston is his agent. All that buttering up of Rudkin on Ric’s pod clearly didn’t get the contract offer up then.

Fvcking hell says it all, he’s got the biggest mouth of them all.

Branston is putting us in a right pickle

He may have rejected a deal, but perhaps still in negotiations for another one hence why he’s been around the squad?

mind you seemed funny Page wasn’t in and around the first team in the last few games considering how promising he is deemed to be, so perhaps something is going on. Would be a shame to lose him

Whilst the club maintain silence to the fans these rumours will keep occurring

?

When do the club ever really announce they're discussing contracts with players?

Correct

In other words before Saturdays game ( for those that think it was rejected AFTER he scored a couple of goals and was therefore Agent lead )

Hit the nail on the head regarding his involvement at the end of last season ( or the lack of it ) being a real issue

Having a pathway to first team football is so important to young players and if one is offered elsewhere then naturally their heads will be turned. Obviously financial gains come into the equation but for some it isn't the over riding factor

On the flip side Rudkin has to balance up what the pathway might look like for a host of young players and ultimately has to make some tough calls

He might think that in Pages position he has, for arguments sake, Henry Cartwright ( older ) and Darren Motsi ( younger ) who are better long term prospects and therefore can't guarantee Page a clear and concise pathway to the first team. He therefore offers Page a contract of "x" number of years a salary of "y". Other clubs will be in exactly the opposite position and don't have a Page coming through their Academy but are desperate to get one so offer him better terms than LCFC and a clear pathway to the first team

If you were the player or parent what would you do ?

If you were the players Agent what would you do to best serve your Client ?

Not sure there are any right or wrong answers

I’ve heard Motsi is incredible from those who have seen him up close, having seen both, who would you say is more likely to push on?

If I was the parent or the player I’d be chasing the money in all honesty but think that says more about me than anything else 🤣🤣🤣

In fairness, he did say he was 8ft 3 so the club are right to have doubts

Serious question, is Cartwright a better prospect than Page? I know Cartwright is starting to put something together but Page looks miles the better prospect to me?

Think I would probably do the same !!

Joking aside it might be that Rudkin has offered the best financial package for all we know but another Club have guaranteed him first team football pretty much straight away so they decided that was more important for his long term development
