Didn't realise we were overran with Longslade survivors on here. I still think of those glorious days when passing any sewage plant.

As an aside, my wife had to go there a few years ago when she was still in teaching, as her old school was part of the same trust. She sent me a photo of a big display of ex-pupils called 'Cedars Superstars'. It somehow didn't feature a lad from my year who won a stage at the Tour De France, but did feature a series of chaps I went to school with who put some music videos on YouTube - so that's great.

Back on news, to an extent, this is an interesting one. I can picture a few claims being made by the flask brigade if we ever score again -  Kent man deliberately fell on Ipswich Town fans, trial hears - BBC News

The clip showed the tiger biting and clawing Chapman as he was sitting in the enclosure. At one point he wags his finger at the animal.

Trump signed the footage with: “Don’t ever mess with nature! President DJT.” It did not show Chapman being killed.

Later the president posted an AI-generated video of himself grinning and having fun by chasing and play fighting with the tiger. It is accompanied by the song The Lion Sleeps Tonight by The Tokens. It features Trump copying the pointing gesture made by Chapman and ends with him and the tiger hugging.

Ah dammit. I had a good opportunity to do some light trespassing when my kid was at an event a couple of years ago at the Tara Palmer-Tompkinson centre as I so hilariously refer to it, which I didn't take.

It all looked a lot smaller than I remembered

Many years ago, around 1970 IIRC my brothers were at Rushey Mead school and they "went into battle" one evening in Birstall with Longslade armed with sticks lol. I don't recall the outcome but I remember my brothers coming home looking both sheepish and victorious.

Why is there no universal publicly/politically expressed outrage at this? The man has absolutely no morals. He's a fool and the world should join in publicly mocking  him. Which unfortunately, isn't happening.

The Russell brand stories are hardly surprising.

Always came across as a sexual predator.

Hope he cops it but knowing that **** he will end up shagg1ng the judge.

Because unfortunately the lines are drawn and those on one side of the line simply do not care if he comes out with this kind of awfulness as long as he's targeting people they feel deserve targeting (eg. everyone outside a very narrow demographic).

He and those people have no sense of shame to be appealed to. The only thing to be done is to neutralise the harm they can and do cause through action, as much as is possible.

There have been so many posts on FB making fun of this unfortunate incident and the individual concerned, as well as the Georgia roller coaster tragedy, mostly from American accounts but quite a lot from the UK. FB needs to suspend (possibly) thousands of accounts but they won't.

If they won't take action to protect children from harm online, why would they care about anything immoral and anti-social or offensive. They certainly have monitoring bots and algorithms to detect harmful content but so much gets through whatever gatekeepers they have.

FB is a basically good thing but at the same time is exploited for harm and nefarious uses by harmful and nefarious people. And there's thousands if not millions of them, ready to take advantage.

It's not just FB, it's all social media platforms. Exploiting users for financial gain. The more sensational/risky/edgy the content, the more clicks, equals more income. That's why we see thousands of would be "influencers" trying to make a buck out of their, often, ridiculous posts. It's a bandwagon and millions of people are on it. Most fail and it's all for nothing and there's the risk of exploitation

I would liken it to thousands of young people from all over travelling to Hollywood in the hope of becoming famous only to end up waiting tables or doing drugs or porn because their dream has failed.

What do you actually expect?

Are you wanting our PM and other world leaders to condemn this?

The bloke has been talking out of his arse and has been mocked constantly for his entire time in office and before.

We'd probably all be better off if everyone just ignored all the rubbish he spouts.

A lot of the American population think that even a shred of empathy and humanity makes you a liberal fag, which is why they worship their psychopath president and love it when he posts stuff like that.

And the fact that it is morally abhorrent to the average person means nothing to the MAGA mob. Clearly they're not all redneck swamp dwellers but they certainly have a distorted view of the world.

Sadly they're not the first throughout the history of our "civilisation".

Just a casual post by the President of the United States.

Is that man alright?!?

He suffers from spoilt brat syndrome where he's never been told no, so thinks he can do what he wants. Sound alike the BBC is putting him back in his place and not backing down on their side. They're demanding proof of his claims and he's refusing. Which is great.

He has a mentality of a 5 year old due to this he posts stuff like this. He's created a cult like following, to fill his toddler sized ego. Everybody else's fault but his. Sadly, he'll claim fraud in the middle terms, and is sowing the seeds at the moment because he will lose, and he doesn't know how to due to Spoilt Brat Syndrome, so will make a massive fuss and stamp his feet and basically say "it's not fair!"

Look at his latest press lady, she only got the job due to her looks. She doesn't have any qualities or qualifications to do the job and will quite clearly be replaced.

How any person voted for this div-end anyway is beyond me, you could tell it was going this way all along.

I think this pretty much, sums it up perfectly.

It’s always nerve wracking with these cases as rape and sexual assault trials are always difficult to convict, though in at least half of the accusations the evidence seems pretty damning.
