Ings is available on a free...

I was about to start listing other meme level free agents (Diego Costa and Vincent Aboubakar strike partnership anyone?) when I realised that non other than Max-Alain Gradel is currently without a club and I don't think we've heard a peep out of @Ric Flair

Diego Costa managed by Dyche will be a sight for sore eyes.

I don't think Daka is that bad tbh it's just he joined at the start of the decline

21/22 - 5 goals, 3 assists in 13 starts

22/23 - 4 goals, 4 assists in 13 starts

23/24 - 7 goals, 5 assists in 15 starts

He's been in and out of the side through a variety of different styles under a churn of managers all the while competing with our best ever player.

Well suppose the new season is his best opportunity since he joined to claim the striker position for good with Vardy now leaving. He could do with a real run of games but he hasn’t looked to have improved since coming here.

We need to sell, he only has a year left and he’s ran his course but OTOH he’s the only striker we have - and I don’t trust us to sign at least two serviceable options

Dyche would go for Patrick Ageymang

Him and Hadji Wright from Coventry. Not only would we have the  USA starting strikers, but both of them are 6ft 4. We’d be an aerial threat at set peices but Ageymang is a right unit. Plus he is RAPID and can dribble  past players. Play target man or can trap, turn and burn.

Let’s not fall for another overrated American, please

who says he’s overrated? Or are you just saying that because he’s American? How much do you actually know about him to make that assumption l?

Tbf it's impossible for a half decent American footballer to NOT be over rated.

They go absurdly overboard whenever one of their players isn't crap. Even more than the English.

I’m lost with Daka, he obviously has some talent but he often looks like he’s never played ball before.

A real consistency problem, ideally he gets a few goals in pre-season and builds some momentum but he’s just never far away from doing something humiliating and he’s not the sort to shake it off.

I guess my point was more HIS assumption that he’s overrated.  The only team who really takes about him over here are the Charlotte fans. I only hear other fans saying who is better than him and who should be playing ahead of him for the National team

Hear me out, but I would be interested in seeing how Mcateer could perform up top. Got the pace and a good finish on him. Would be interesting that’s for sure.

I’d rather not if this is the **** you’re going to come out with :D

Those stats are interesting. Mainly for how few starts he's ever made for us.

Let me just say I'm no Daka fanboy, there was a home game this season he was through on goal and I knew he would miss. He did. I laughed.

He obviously seems to be a confidence player, and I'd hazard a guess most of his starts have not been consecutively, but all over the place.

He's probably never going to be the answer, but for a confidence player, a decent run would get the best out of him.

Whether that's good is another matter. But you can clearly see he's never had an extended run, with Vardy's presence always in the background.

With PSR and potentially restrictions on us recruiting, we'll need a new striker, but we also need to get the best out of Daka. I can't see him having much value to sell this summer based on his career with us.

Daka is good enough for the Championship, but we need another option in terms of a different profile of striker too.

He ... umm... wasn't good enough last time around.

His level is League 1

He’s good enough for the women’s championship …that’s about all

Luis Javier Suarez.

37 goals and 8 assists in his last 52 nineties for Almeria across the first and second division. They didn't get promoted and we could offer better wages.

Powerful runner, dribbles well, holds the ball up and can score with both feet.

Is he age 35 plus? We might be interested if so . . .

If it’s Dyche.

The dream - Mihalio Ivanovic

The reality - Oli McBurnie

What a sad state we are in as a club where a striker with 12 championship goals last season is considered 'the dream'
