Just seen that clip when he miscontrolled and inadvertently passed to McAteer. 

 

I've tried to be patient with him as he came here with high potential and four goals versus Spartak etc but the truth is there are just too many examples of him looking like a newborn giraffe and missing some absolute sitters by huge margins, the truth is quality players just don't have that many bloopers. Daka is a dud I'm afraid and any defence of him is not based on evidence. His best qualities are his defensive attributes which is not what you want to say about your No9 in a side that should be challenging for first place.

Mavididi 7 - great energy and looked up for it. If him and Marti hit it off he can be a big influence. 

 

Ayew 8 - good goal and linked play well at times. Needs to be number 2 up top option though.

 

Daka 5 - loads of pace, load of shite. 

 

McAteer 8 - some class touches and good turn of pace. Will be needed this season.

 

Monga - 7 - showed for the ball and took his man on but got little change.

 

Winks 8 - looked like a class apart from Skipp/Soumare

 

Nelson 7  - looked a different player from the one that went to Oxford. Should be in alongside Okoli

 

Faes 0 - get out of the club.

 

Aluko 6 - some good signs but not om for long.

 

Page 7 - not on for long but looked confident and will be a player...

 

Ndidi, Alves, Justin, Ricardo, Stola, Kristiansen, Souttar not playing is interesting.

 

 

 

 

What's interesting about 3 injured players not playing? Do agree it's strange that Ndidi and Stolarczyk didn't play at all.

Lots of doom mongering on here before the game. I actually had a good day out with my boy. And yes he got the new shirt. He likes it - looks good on him. 

 

In H1 it was as full as a an early Caribou cup game. Obvs missed the whole singing section but a really enjoyed a half decent pre season game. Fiorentina were clearly miles behind us in pre season and using today to get ready for bigger challenges in the week. Although, their players looked pretty rattled and annoyed at time which made me feel they didn't expect us to be as good as we were.  

 

I was really impressed with the pressing, especially in the first half. You could clearly see the pressing shape and tactics at play, and the Fiorentina players hated it.  Be interesting to see how this plays out in the Championship, as Fiorentina continued to play out the back but i think many Championship teams won't bother. I think many of the better teams in the championship wont like this.

 

Fatawu is simply class and fans around me loved him. Mavididi looked quick and caused problems, and Ayew on the whole was ok. Jannik made a few mistakes early on and Mads looked rusty with his feet (funny after seeing all the criticisms of Jakub on this).  What was the point of playing Mads?  Impressed with Okoli and felt Skipp did ok. Bilal had his best preseason game. Soumare had one of the best games ive seen him in (although i would still want him gone).

 

Felt the younger players should have been given more time and i would have liked to have seen Alves. Monga was right in front of us and struggled. There were a few times when we won the ball high up the pitch and the midfielder was looking for him straight away but he failed to get into position quickly. I think he was a bit over awed by quite a big defender who clattered him towards the end. Its a reminder that the kid will need more time to grow into a game and not always light up the pitch. On the whole - i still think we get great things from him but Mavi and Fats start.

 

Lots to feel good about. Still need some out goings. But loving the press we play and it works!

No need to change keepers in the last pre season game, but yeah little strange about Ndidi, probably one of quite a few we are trying to get out of the place.
