But it’s your job to say who is good enough and who isn’t?

I've said we should be aiming for better. I've no idea if he's good enough or not.

We're talking about a Vardy replacement, not interested. I'd take him as part of three strikers Ayew, Kone and a marquee striker. Assuming Daka leaves.

I'm certain that everyone will be very patient and will set him up for success by giving him at least a season to bed in before even considering criticising his performances.

You are asking for a replacement for a player that was a once in a generation buy, and it happened to be our turn to buy him.

The more you think we have to get someone who can fill his boots, the more disappointed you’ll be in what we do get.

We don't do that here...

I'm not deluded enough to think any potential striker can have even a shred of the impact Vardy has done, but it is a fair point.

My opinion is our best value right now in the market we are in, is gamble. Buy a player for a low fee, low wages who could potentially make the step up, and see from there.

I’d much rather go down this route on trying to unearth gems then go for tried, tested yet expensive players.  Who as we know, more often than not have the wrong attitude and zero willingness to improve or put effort in.

it was this ethos that worked for Pearson, and I’m convinced it’s the best route even now.

So he will be useless by September then in the eyes of most on here, if he hasn’t scored a few by then.

Hopefully some of the paltry fee for Hermansen (minus whatever we owe his previous club on the profit) goes on this fella

Suggest research might be in order. lol

18m is poor for the quality of player, in my opinion, when compared with other recent keeper moves (Petrovic, Trafford for example). They’ve done a job on us using that Brazilian keeper to force us to lower the fee. Probably not enough to prevent the loss of other key players either, fairly good chance at least one of Fatawu/BEK will follow.

We paid more for Skipp…

No doubt they did a job with John, the Brazilian lad, but it’s not low for a keeper, could argue it’s low for his potential, but for a keeper, especially a non-English one, it’s not low.

(It literally puts him in the top 20 for keepers.)

Would rather have kept him, bit our fantastic recent management has ensured that was unlikely.

I'd settle for a new Steve Howard or Ulloa.

Looks a no-brainer to me. Young and looks hungry. If he scores 10 goals next season with 3 years left on his contract, he'll be worth at least 10M. 3M is peanuts.
