This is what “Dumb and Dumber” upstairs don’t understand. Remember when we lost our scouts Steve Walsh & Lee Congarton. We were told don’t worry our recruitment won’t change our team is still good. Oh Really ?? So where did all the S***e players come from then. Poor judgement and poor planning leads to panic buying, do that season after season and eventually you’ll be left with a squad in decline. And you wonder why King Power itself is in financial trouble, again they don’t adapt to market trend and peoples habits. I agree, and maybe we were at the stage at one point to start recruiting experienced ‘win now’ players. But, the market now very much calls for- for a team like us anyway, to buy young or unknown talent, and give them a couple of years to develop, they show some promise- and go to Chelsea for 80 mill. We can afford to give young players game time, there’s no book that says we have to play Ayew, or go and sign a Bamford, who yes they might score enough goals for us next season. But season after they are only good enough to compete in the Bottom half or relegation zone. Maybe Kone takes a year and comes out the other end a Toney or Delap and bangs them in?
ithuriel Posted 8 August 2025 Posted 8 August 2025 Has this actually got legs or is it just a discussion point because there is no striker on the horizon? 1

Bablemikey Posted 8 August 2025 Posted 8 August 2025 I’m thinking he can not be any worse than Daka, on a fraction of Daka’s wage, and may well be better in time. There’s significant upside here potentially. 2

During that period he tried to get them to sign both Robertson and Maguire from Hull, he pointed out Evans on the same bargain transfer we snapped up, and famously had a 17 year old Haaland at Goodison Park ready to sign until the board put a stop to it because they didn't want to take the risk. That story reveals so much about the mindset of those in charge at Everton. Imagine if he had never left.

They were right . He spent eye watering amounts of that crook’s money on an absolute pile of crap . I doubt if any of his signings were moved on at more than they cost

mozartfox Posted 9 August 2025 Posted 9 August 2025 Still not here then ??? Surely if we really want him this deal can be done? Just hope this is not a case of Rudders playing stupid games.
Ric Flair Posted 9 August 2025 Posted 9 August 2025 Be interesting to see if he plays this weekend for them. 1

messerschmitt Posted 9 August 2025 Posted 9 August 2025 A Wycombe fan has just messaged me saying Kone is coming to Leicester, 4-year deal, 6 million and a 15% sell-on fee. Has anyone else heard anything? Seems a bit weird as Sky reporting they want 3 million? 1

A club wants 3m for a player so we naturally offer double the amount. 1

There’s been a Leicester fan pretending to be itk on twitter saying that exact deal, so your mate will most likely be referencing that. 1
MPH Posted 9 August 2025 Posted 9 August 2025 So Wycombe never lowered their fee. They lowered the part they wanting paying up front and the rest was moved to ‘ add ons’.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 9 August 2025 Posted 9 August 2025 Any more unfunny jokes about his name being similar to cone?
