Spanner73 Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 I remember when Stevie G was Villa manager maybe 6 years ago and he was linked then at around the 50M mark and most of us thought that estimate was low as he was that good, but from that point on he never kept that form that was the key in landing him a big move to an elite club. He's a shadow of the player he once was but that’s good money for once I’d say. Not sure he’s worth that. 1

FosseSpark Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 £50m was before his legs and his confidence went. he has lost both in spades and so £9m is massive. Particularly given his high wages. A real shame, but everyone peaks some time and I think his was n 19/20 like a few others.

rony Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 as a beşiktaş fan, I'm really curious about this during the season leicester got promoted under maresca, did they usually play a dominant and attacking style especially against smaller teams pressing high and spending most of the game in the opposition half? If I remember correctly, ndidi played more as a number 8 that season and was quite involved in the attacking phase. what I’m wondering is: in a system where the center-backs push up to the halfway line and leave a lot of space behind, can ndidi really handle the number 6 role and act as a proper ball-winner cleaning up in behind and covering for the high line? Is he physically in good enough shape to do that right now? does he look heavy or slow when tracking back?

His ball winning skills were mind blowing. Can he still do that? He can win the ball but the protection of the defence he cannot do on his own. He needs the team structure to be much more robust for him to win the ball and give it to the creators. He still presses well and in roles for us in recent years has been part of the high press (if we could be arsed to implement it) where he'd win the ball in the opposition half rather than traditionally be breaking up play and launching fast counters. I'd have previously said he should still find Turkish league football easy enough to diminish any of his decline but I actually rate the improvements in quality in your country over the last year or two and he needs to be properly on it. Unfortunately even if he's at full capacity he tends to get at least one muscular injury that keeps him out for 6-10 weeks a season. He is still a very good asset though

Scored a couple of 25 yarders for us but usually very poor at shooting. He will also be missing for AFCON. Must have been a daunting prospect when he first joined having to fill the massive gap left by NGolo Kante. He was brilliant for us until about after we won the FA Cup and has been very average since. Always a guaranteed starter when fit but dropped down the pecking order as he lost form. Very popular player and hope that he does well for you
FoxesFourLife Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Great servant to the club had some great moments and had a great season under Enzo all the best Ndidi.

Prem is too much for him these days but he was a class above in the championship even in an unsuited role. He is better suited to a dominant team and I think he will become a good player for you
HUNTA84 Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Will somebody double check the paperwork before it's realised Rudkin has agreed to 9 million Turkish Lira 2
ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Why was the other thread locked when the transfer has not yet been confirmed?
Corky Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 First four years he was immense. Injuries virtually ruined him until Enzo deployed him differently and was great in the Championship in that advanced role. Never the best footballer but as a defensive midfielder for years he kept us ticking. I believe Maguire got his move because Ndidi's excellence allowed him to go forward. Really good lad and I wish him well.
JimJams Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 We've actually played a fooking blinder.... Hopefully he settles well and does a good job for them. Everyone wins. 1

FoxesWalk Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 Has been great for us, I will miss him, although I won’t miss all the “jokes” on here about his age… £9m is a great fee considering we could have lost him for free before. Credit where it’s due, rare these days.
lanefox Posted 7 August 2025 Posted 7 August 2025 How have we managed to conduct two deals at once , can someone check if Rudkin is ok
