Was going to put this into the championship thread but figured it would be buried so might be nice to have a place to follow all of our predictions. I also know there is a predictions thread but that was solely focused on LCFC.

Doesn’t necessarily need to be for automatic promotion, it could also be a dark horse team for top 6 or even survival against the odds.

My predictions:

Firstly I think Norwich will be fighting for automatics within roughly 4-6 points off of top 2 come the end of the season.

I think Millwall will be a surprise top 6 challenger.

This one isn’t really much of a “dark horse” amongst our fans, but many fans across the league have written us off. If we get 6 points deducted, we can still challenge automatic promotion and will be comfortably top 6.

Im not sure the hype around Birmingham and Wrexham is warranted and I can’t see them being top 6.

Mods please merge if you feel this shouldn’t have its own thread, didn’t want it to get lost there, and the current predictions thread is only really related to Leicester City unless I’ve missed a different thread.

I think Oxford will be surprisingly good yet the league seems so strong, I  think they’d struggle to push top 6. It would be phenomenal for someone like them or charlton to get in this year

Can’t see Oxford doing too much to be honest. It seems to me like they’ve lost their best defender in Nelson. Hopefully they’ll stay up, top half of bottom of the table would be great.

Currently 1-0 to Pompey

Well I did think it was Derby prior to today.

Eustace kept Blackburn up in a mess then had them top 6 before he left for Derby. I think he can do the same with Derby, albeit they have changed their whole team practically so that might take time.

Stoke under Mark Robins as I believe he will have them well drilled. We arent a dark horse. Keep our discipline we will be top 2 unless points deduction occurs.

We're being slept on due to a lack of transfer business and the supposed impending points deduction, but I've said on another thread that our matchday squad of 18 is among the best in the division.

And with £30m in transfer fees brought in and £400k taken off the wage bill, were actually in better financial nick than many think. Unless the points deduction is apocalyptic, and I'm talking 12 or more, we'll be up there.

Millwall are quietly improving year on year, and The Den would be a huge advantage in a promotion run-in. Birmingham and Wrexham look to me like hype, Ipswich look as though they're going to be short of attacking options and Southampton were not only much worse than us last season but are now actually weaker.

They had the best form of the last 10 games behind Leeds and Burnley, so maybe not so much of a surprise plus Alex Neil has had them in playoff form since taking over.

It’s always going to be a tough ask for them to compete and that was certainly a winnable one for them. So maybe they they won’t push on as I thought.

just seen some stuff that seems like they were very much progressing as a club and I rate their boss. But the championship is a minefield, anyone can beat anyone on a good day. Today’s seen lots of favourites drop points, consistency will be key because take your foot off the gas in any game and you probable lose

Millwall have finished 8th or 9th for almost every season in the last decade

They always seem to start badly then pick up in the second half of the season but don’t quite do enough

I knew they had good form but didn't realise it was that strong! I just thought Alex Neil is a solid manager and given a bit of backing can get the most out of them, they are going under the radar because of how many bigger clubs are expecting to challenge

I really like Japhet Tanganga in defence, can play RB or CB, wanted us to sign him a couple of seasons ago as he would be probably £5-6m but we have too much depth there now and he would want to be starting every week. If we sold Vestergaard + Faes i'd take him, not sure if he's prem quality but his move to Millwall really took his play to the next level and he is still improving for them. Really wouldn't be surprised to see him move to another championship top 6 team if Millwall fail this season.

Would be carnage.

The matrix would do everything in their power to stop it, refs would be favouring the other team in the POs.

Definitely. I'm not a fan of them, but I'd love to see them go up, purely to see how it's handled by everyone you've mentioned.
