We've won both games. At Charlton there was no midfield behind him. People in here saying he's "very poor". He's in the team because one of our senior players thinks hes too important to play. Its a joke, he's looked fine both games.

He was poor last night, we have high expectations we’re a big club in this division. He’ll get there though, as I said, I like him.

Fine you probably weren't the right person to quote. He's getting minutes in games we are winning and will get better in time. Don't see why some people want to pile in already

Games will help him

for 17 he is quality

playing that role as a kid is very hard

I was very impressed

an assist and a decent solid game

touch will improve, stamina will improve, the positives here are huge !
I saw Jobe Bellingham play a couple of times at 17 and he wasn't as good as this kid

I’m excited about him

“And for my next poem, I will be performing Turn the Page, Louis…”

I think Page has huge potential. I’d say based on the two starts he is not quite ready for the physicality of the Championship but there is a real player there. I am very excited to see him develop 👏

He’s got a bit of Dele Ali in him, leggy and wirey , however Ali was at least two years older when he broke through.

He was OK, some poor touches but some good ones as well including an assist on his second ever senior start - you can nitpick if you really want by saying the pass itself wasn't perfect but it was his positivity and work rate that created the opportunity. Got through a lot of running too as Ayew being the striker meant he was having to lead the press a lot of the time.

Just as it's not going to be helpful to constantly compare any current or future striker to Vardy, I think we need to be careful not to judge all our young players by Monga's standard.

I thought he had a decent game. The only  current negative to his performance is that he loses out in the physical battle which is understandable given his age. This is also something that will improve as he matures and realises what it's like to play at this level.

His completed passes are also on the safe side which I would hope he chooses to be braver with the more experience he gets.

He wasn't poor last night, the kids 17 and started very well.

He was really involved at the start and faded as the team dropped deeper and allowed Birmingham to dominate possession.

It's ridiculous to criticise a 17 year old.

He was poor last night - take off your blue tinted specs and you’ll see that he struggled to look after the ball, was consistently outmuscled and nearly ****ed up the assist, abdul got him out of trouble.

I’m not ‘piling’ in but I’m absolutely allowed to comment on whoever turns out in a Leicester city shirt. He will deservedly be afforded more patience but I’ll call a spade a spade.

So much negative in here it’s mad.

I really enjoyed his performance last night.

He showed more heart and enthusiasm than we see from many of the squad in recent times. He was lively.

These young players will make mistakes, they are learning. This is a process that we have to accept to reap the rewards later on.

Save your criticisms and negative energy for those who deserve it - take your pick, there’s plenty, page isn’t one of them.

We need to be patient and positive towards these young lads who show a lot of promise, and are doing incredibly well given their age and lack of experience in men’s football. We need to champion them, nurture and help them grow.

Came here to say the same. I thought he'd get the benefit of the doubt on here (stupidly).

Always wanted the ball. Picked up some really good positions. Got an assist.

He got barged off the ball once or twice and took a couple of heavy touches. He's 17 and they'll be lessons learnt. There's an energy in his game that we need in the centre of the park. Too important to loan out.

Monga is good but not generational. Rio Nguhoma and Max Dowman who are doing it in  the prem at the same age or younger might have something to say about that

Strange one this, Nguhoma who has played 1, ONE, premier league minute (yes scoring a goal) and Dowman who has played a grand total of 26?

Monga has more prem minutes than both those. By the end of the season he'll have double the minutes of professional football than the other 2 combined. Unless their careers have already been mapped out for them, and you've had a glimpse of the future, this feels a bit short sighted!

Much rather have Monga than Nguhoma. Monga is younger and is more technically gifted.

You are absolutely piling in, he's 17 and playing because BEK refuses to.

Making pointless comments, oh what a surprise a 17yr old was out muscled playing against men.

It has nothing to do with blue specs, he doesn't deserve criticising IMO, he should get a free hit on here.

Fair play this opinion is actually wrong though

There’s no free hits in professional football mate, think you need to calm down a tad, are you his uncle or something?

I like him and definitely a player in there but if you’re old enough to play professional football you’re old enough to be critiqued. I’m not going to come on here and say oh wow he was amazing when he was obviously a little out of his depth. Which is the expectation by the way, I’m not expecting him to go and smash up Birmingham city.

I hope you’re okay though you sound really stressed.

Appreciate this.

He made about 4 mistakes, and they weren’t big or critical, the rest of his game was really positive. He was putting himself in positions bravely, where it was easy to make mistakes.

I think if we counted how many mistakes our senior, experienced players make, they would have been much higher. Daka for example, in the short time he was on the pitch, was classic patson.

He's an example of where a player needs time to settle but by being picked week in, week out. Whilst he was older, this is what Puel did with Chilwell.

The irony is, most debates with fans on the lack of opportunities for academy players is because they evidently " aren't ready " otherwise they'd be in the team, but the reality is you often need a manager to have the bravery and trust in a young player that gives them the environment to improve and succeed.

Page is no more ready right now than Jake Evans or Bade Aluko but Marti see's something in him and the lack of other options that he's prioritising his fast track development. He's got a great future in the game and let's hope Philpott and Branston get that pro deal signed with us.

Thanks for this Ric.

I was trying to say similar in my earlier post.

It’s all part of the process, and we need to share the faith marti has and be a bit patient with the lad when he makes small mistakes. The finished article could be phenomenal.
