Btw English football culture must be the only place where players should be forgiven for failing.

Some of these lot would swiftly exiting abroad

Most places on the continent the captain would be pleading his case and he forced to listen directly to the supporters in fear of being chased off the pitch.

It’s a British phenomenon to hold up footballers as ‘heroes’ without any of the accountability that would naturally come with that title.

I have returned from Deepdale, also endured the awful display at Huddersfield and will be at The Valley on Saturday but, the worst performance today was not on the pitch. In my opinion, that dubious ‘honour’ goes to our ‘fans’ in the Bill Shankly Kop.

When the loudest, and most frequent song heard from that stand, was not a chant giving much-needed support for our players on the pitch, but was an obscene song about Rudkin, then I agree, our fanbase we are a part of the problem, a big part.

The Sheffield Wednesday showed us, last Sunday, how real fans support their team, and their plight is far, far worse than ours!

I'd rather those individuals would just stay away. Embarrassing!

Forest away in the cup.

This was the tipping point in my opinion.

Soumare still being here in 2025 just sums the whole thing up really. A serious club has moved him in 2+ years ago. Could say the same for Daka.

Just absolutely rotten.

No other club would want them on what they earn at Leicester

Agree with this, why was he so far away and just jogging back?

Monga did not celebrate!!! He picked the ball up amd ran towards the half way line.  Awfull attitude, wanting to get on and try yo win the game. It does not matter what happens, fans will slate Faes just because. He was one of the better players yesterday and applauded the fans at the end of the game.

I don’t agree with picking on Faes for that individually but the fact Monga had scored his first senior goal and all apart from Fatawu just turned and walked away shows how rotten the culture is. From all the team not just Faes but including him.

Monga showed ultimate professionalism running to get on with the game but they could still have come over and congratulated him and run back with him like Fatawu did.

When you have a load of players with a year left this is what happens. Gutless as well as talentless.

We’re not going up for a while.

Yep. Whatever happens Faes, Vestergaard, and Soumare will be gone next season.

The catastrophic thing however, is letting so many players leave for free over three/four seasons.

We should be selling not letting contracts expire, otherwise we’re blowing 10s of millions in transfer fees that we are put recouping, and where is the cash coming from to replace these players?

Don't worry about that. We are more than capable of taken out even more loans to burden ourselves with more debt and hinder future development.

Our fan base in recent years has been horrific.

And it goes back to beyond just the last handful of poor years. The rot set in when we were decent and we've been left with the worst group of fans I can recall in 35 years supporting the club.

Our fans are in reality no different from fans of other clubs. The difference is that apart from the Maresca promotion season, our performances, and the club’s ambition, have given fans nothing to cheer for. We have a quite unlikeable collection of players, along with crap and arrogant managers, that we have watched for several season let us down with poor performance after poor performance, 2 relegations in 3 seasons, and we’ve seen everything we achieved over the last decade thrown away while the club has reverted to type rather than establishing itself in the top half Premier League.

Harsh reality - how many of our playing squad so far have looked like Championship Top 6 standard (nevermind prem quality) as opposed to also rans.

Maybe I’m just delusional but sometimes I feel as a fanbase we are a part of the problem. The team is low on confidence and it certainly can’t help if you know the crowd will react negatively to any misjudgment, rightly or wrongly it kills the appetite for taking risk in some of our players.

We’ve seen before how a supportive fan base can help spur a damaged team on. People will hate to be reminded of this but I distinctly remember the shift in atmosphere when clappers were introduced vs. West Ham in the game which kicked off our great escape. Perhaps it was the performance inspiring the fans, but could equally be the other way around.

I know a lot on here will say our discontent with our decline should be more vocal, and I agree. But it can still go hand in hand with supporting the team. Just look at Wolves fans when they came away to us last season.

Exactly this. I’m almost on my own in holding this view, but I think the fans were the biggest contributing factor to our relegation with Rodgers and the Dean Smith. At the beginning of that season we were playing genuinely good football, but after a few unlucky results the fans started booing everything. You could literally see the confidence and morale drain out of the players. We never recovered.

Just watching the highlights. Watching vesty get exposed is always satisfying. It should really not be uncommon to want your defenders to primarily actually be able to defend.

Fair play Monga, lovely goal. Awful celebration from our guys. Fist pump from Justin and a polite applause from Ayew. Only Faes went upto him lol

Can’t tell if this is a serious opinion. If it is, you’re part of the problem.

Not to mention that if you and the other like-minded fans who felt Rudkin is doing a great job had sung up in support of him, that chant wouldn’t have been the loudest one.

Struggling to get others to sing with you? Might tell you that you’re on the wrong side of this one…

So you think I'm the problem.... that hilarious! :crylaugh:

Nowhere did I say I 'felt Rudkin is doing a great job'! The length of contracts that have been given, with the inflated salaries he has dished out are ridiculous.

My point is, and to confirm it is a serious one, I consider singing anti-Rudkin songs during the game instead of backing the players on the pitch is counterproductive and does F**k All to spur on the players. No sure why you don’t get that!

What the **** was that reaction from Daka to the goal

The realisation that a literal child has now scored more goals this calendar year than him, probably

56 years I've supported this Club.

I'm not giving up on them now and I do hope MC is given the time to sort it out before the fans turn on him as well as the board.

It doesn't help anyone.
